When will we start to hear---

some news on recruiting. I don't remember ever being this far into the recruiting year with only one commit. Obviously the new staff is keeping very quiet about prospects and there don't seem to be any "leakers". Anyone have any thoughts on when we will start to get some news to get excited about?

2002 was the last year they only had 1 at this point. Last year they only had 2, both from Iowa.
Since 02 (7 years) they have had 25 verbals by this point, thats just over 3, but there was one year with 6 and one with 7. Also, of the 25 'early' verbals, 19 (76%) of them were from Iowa.

I don't think this staff is hitting Iowa players like Mac did, so I would expect later news when it comes to recruits. Remember, they have not started practice for their senior season yet.

If you look at teams with a lot of verbals already, most are major programs like OSU, Texas, ....or
they have taken a lot of instate kids.

Too early to be concerned...........

That is true, most of the verbals schools have right now are from instate kids.

I'm just wondering what a typical coaches' day consists of right now. There are no practices. If they are spending time with families - that's fine with me. Maybe there are strength and speed metrics that they are monitoring, or maybe charting plays, networking with HS coaches or compiling training films; but recruiting has to be going on even though the kids are not readily available and are hard to evaluate.
