Re: J.J. Bass
I've heard that JJ would be our featured back but A-Rob and Scales (again, if healthy) would be a fantastic backfield imho. Matter of fact the thought of a A-Rob/Williams back field the next two years makes me feel fuzzy inside...(thats a good thing) -

Re: J.J. Bass
There were some grade issues before, but I was under the impression that he got that back on track. If he's facing a tough decision, I doubt it has to do with grades. Maybe he has an issue back home that he may need to tend to?
Hopefully 33 can give a little insight. I really think that JJ Bass could be one of the best players on our team next year.

Re: J.J. Bass
I really hope its just rumors and he is staying for another season.

Re: J.J. Bass
Would he be leaving because he could potentially by back #3 behind Robinson and Scales?

With him and Robinson, I feel confident we will have a good backfield. W/o him we would have to rely on 3 seniors to backup Robinson who have not shown us anything in there careers thus far. We may have to burn Schwartz's redshirt if someone gets injured

I like Bass and hope this is just rumors.
Yet if there were a position on the field we could afford to lose a guy, it's definitely running back.

Re: J.J. Bass
I don't see how we can afford to lose JJ with Scales never being able to stay healthy. We don't really have any good alternitives after Scales if JJ were to leave.

I don't know if I can agree, but than again I don't know if there is a position were we can afford to lose a guy. IMO we don't have a RB who jumps off the board right now as a guy who is really good. I would rate our RB's in the lower half of the Big 12. Probably somewhere b/w 10-12.

A-Rob appeared really good to me last year...for such a young kid.
perhaps it is my cardinal and gold glasses.

perhaps it is my cardinal and gold glasses. No one is denying that. But if JJ were to leave, that puts us in a really deep hole when it comes to backups. Scales and who else? What if Scales can't stay healthy like before?

Re: J.J. Bass
Losing Bass for this season would be a huge hit. I think he is likely to start, if he gets all of his off-the-field business taken care of to Chizik's liking.
We need him to ensure we have two feature backs until Bo is eligible next season.
Scales... I like his effort, but I feel he is too slow (and injury-prone) to do much damage in the Big XII.
