A question for 33...
If Arnaud wins the starting qb spot outright, and the coaches wanted Bates to play at other positions, while still being the back-up quarterback (like Meier at KU) would he be complicit, or would he likely consider transferring? I know these are all big "ifs". If you don't know or it's too personal to discuss here, I understand. Just curious...
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -
Re: A question for 33...
Question for 33, but I would think he would still remain the backup qb as we need one. The fellow came to be a qb and a backup qb is probably preferable to being a WR....one injury away from starting.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: A question for 33...
Does anyone else get the feeling that Arnaud would be more likely to stick around and play WR than Bates?

However I'd put money on Bates being a much better receiver than Arnaud.
I'd hope we're not getting too hung up on the remote chances of guys leaving.

I'd hope we're not getting too hung up on the remote chances of guys leaving. Maybe I just think that way because Bates has been more vocal than Arnaud about playing QB. I agree, though -- hopefully they both stick around as, from what I've seen, they seem to be good people as well as athletes.

Re: A question for 33...
Arnaud is not fast enough to play a receiver.

Re: A question for 33...
Arnaud couldn't play as a receiver.

Re: A question for 33...
Well I don't think Arnaud needs to say much about him being firm on wanting to play the QB position as he was the one that played QB last year and not "out of position" at WR.

Re: A question for 33...
If that so happens, I think there is a good possibility PB will look into other schools. If the opportunity is there for him somewhere else and it is appealing to him, i think he will go. He has his heart set on QB and that is what we need. I really think we will be seeing him a lot at QB. however, we know he is here for the 2008 season. Say AA takes over and they talk PB into going to reciever, (doubtful because of depth and not to his liking) however, if that would happen, and PB would prosper at WR and see the opportunity( put up BIG numbers) . He would stay. the way he says it "back under center and not getting stopped"

Re: A question for 33...
If Arnaud is the clear winner I think it would be in PB's best interest to go to the other side of the ball.

Re: A question for 33...
PB and AA are both sophomores now so I don't really care who wins the job as long as it is the guy who will be the most productive. If one of them has huge breakout year like we hope, it's possible the other QB will stick around knowing that the job might open up again in 2010-2011 (that assumes one of them turns pro early). I know that is thinking way ahead, but that's probably the way these guys think if they're interested in getting paid some day.
PB also has a possible redshirt year, which means the QB job is probably his if he sticks around long enough. There are a number of QBs who had long careers in the NFL after playing only one year in college (Brad Johnson and Kurt Warner come to mind).

Re: A question for 33...
We have high hopes for AA and PB, but let's not get ahead of ourselves too much as far as one of them leaving early to go pro. -
Re: A question for 33...
I think PB is going to be the winner and then you guys will have to find somewhere for AA to go. Maybe he can kick, god knows ISU has not had a kicker for the past decade or so.

Arnaud would make a great linebacker.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."
