KC Star article

Since we all get tired of reading the Rag and their we'll call them articles. Here's a piece from the KC Star, better as usual.
www.kansascity.com | 07/23/2008 | Cyclones won’t listen to dire predictions

Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:
'Struck by a Cyclone
It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town'

Re: KC Star article

Interesting comments to the article...
I especially like this one:
Underestimate the Cyclones at your own risk. Coach Chizik had the Cyclones looking A LOT MORE disciplined during the second half of the season last year, and think they will surprise a lot of teams (unpleasantly) this year. I predict them to finish ahead of my beloved Wildcats.
Go 'Cats!
If I was scheduled to play us (ISU) this year, i would be a little worried.
Not saying ISU will be the best team in the North but i think we will be competitive and better then most people are expecting.

Re: KC Star article

The article itself hit its mark, but I was disappointed in the quotes section that was included in the print version yesterday. Generally, they quote the coach and some of the players regarding the upcoming season. For the ISU article, the comments were from players and coaches from other B!2 teams and their comments were about B12 in general and not related to ISU at all. I think the reporter got a bit lazy in that regard.

Nice article otherwise.

Feel free to mock EIU - JCloned

Andrew Logue of the Des Moines Register and Mike DeArmand of the Kansas City Star listened to the exact same press conference and Logue went with the headline Chizik Pictures More Growing Pains and DeArmand went with the headline Cyclones Won’t Listen to Dire Predictions. How is that possible?

Because one is a writer for the Rag and the other is a writer for the Star. 'nuff said...

ISU tends to always get more love from KC or the Omaha World Herald than the Rag period. Nothing new there.

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Re: KC Star article

why are people still ragging about the rag on here? haven't we all realized and come to terms that the DSM Rag is a piece of garbage and is in no way shape or form a worthy source of information? I always look to the KC star or some other, more reliable news source.

JUST STOP READING EVERYONE!

I can only relate to what's been linked to this site from the OWH and almost all of that has been of a positive nature.
