As for Sedrick Johnson and Carlson.... Carlson will definately play a lot for us since he's a JUCO and all. Plus we need his great speed! SJ will also play this year IMO. He will immediately play the role of Todd Blythe for us IMO. He is 6'4" tall and can jump like the basketball player he is. We will stretch the field with his "jump ball" ability. We tend to dink and dunk it down the field a lot, but SJ will give us that deep threat to keep defenses honest. I see him as a Randy Moss type player. Obviously not as good as Moss quite yet.... but the same kind of player.
And I thought my Cyclone Kool-Aid was strong.

Those are Cyclone yards now..
Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:
'Struck by a Cyclone
It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town'
Re: Updates from todays practice.....Carlson had a nice play
That is one thing that is irritated me big time in the last 5 years. Seems like the average YAC was -1. Sumrall is our 1st down guy. I could see a guy like SJ being a deep jump ball guy, Carlson seems like our Throw it deep and outrun everyone or Jailbreak screen guy.
Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum....
Re: Updates from todays practice.....Carlson had a nice play
We haven't had alot of YAC the last few years by receivers because they were never hit in stride. It seems every catch was either a sliding catch or a catch when the receiver was standing still...

I have said it before, but I would not be surprised to see Sed Johnson and Carlson starting for us at some point in the season. I am just not that impressed with our other WR's as far as play making ability goes
