Re: Keeler ranks Big 12/ Big 10, 1-23

Nobody's giving tOSU any credit. They had a good team last year and don't lose ANYBODY. They'll be good this year, probably back in the NCG. Beanie Wells is probably the favorite to win the Heisman too.

Another team I think isn't getting enough credit is Purdue. They'll surprise this season.

Yes, I'm an ISU Alum and Hawkeye fan...get over it.

OSU is getting plenty of credit (as evidenced by Sean's "rankings"), but the fact of the matter is that they play in a weak conference and the weak conference play provides for inflated win totals. They've gotten exposed each of the past two years in their bowl games. They haven't even been competitive against those SEC teams.

Re: Keeler ranks Big 12/ Big 10, 1-23

Other than having KU way too low, I don't think this list is horrible. He is just ranking by predicted record. With Iowa's schedule, they should easily get to 7-5. And not many people are predicting us to go much better than 4-8. There is no way we are 22nd in that list, but in the second year of a new coach, 4-8 is possible. I see 6 or 7 wins, but most people aren't going to predict that.

Mjones,

Maybe you should be the sports writer for the DM Rag. I like how you have the teams ranked a lot better than, Sean "I'm a Hawkeye Homer" Keeler.

I guess Sean hasn't figured out that Capt. Kirk is 3-6 vs. ISU and he will struggle this year keeping his mind on the FB season, when all the sexual assault allegations are investigated & charges filed.

Haha thanks! I just ranked my big 12 teams and threw in the big 10 where I see fit.

Mr. Keeler, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul...

Now now, be reasonable. How in the world would Keeler keep that in mind? If he is getting his news from the DM Rag, he hardly has any idea that anything has even happened.

Guys,

Please take marketing in to consideration when ever reading something from the DMR. Who are the majority of people who read their content? What market are they appealing to?

I have said this time and time again, ISU fans are vastly outnumbered in the state of Iowa. Take pride in the fact that you are different and see things from a different perspective.

You don't have to look at the list that closely to realize that he ranked the teams by his predicted records. I'm not that familiar with most of the other schools' schedules, but it's not that out of line to think that Iowa could get 7 wins and us 4. I've seen a lot of other people on this board make similar predictions. So in that respect, Iowa being ranked ahead of us is not that wacko. As for our ranking in relation to the rest of the schools, I can't say for sure.

Interesting. He shows Ohio State finishing 11 - 1, 7 - 1 in conference. Doesn't OSU play USC on the road in non-conference this season? If so, he's predicting an OSU victory over USC.

Ooh, ooh! Who wants to see Ohio State bend over and take it like an inmate from an SEC team (pick one, any of them) in the national championship for the third year in a row? I do! I do!

I would love nothing more than for Georgia to make it through its hell-on-earth schedule with flying colors, and provide a good old-fashioned woodshed beatdown of the Buckeyes!

Yes, the Rag caters to Hawk fans, that is true. But saying Cyclone fans are 'vastly outnumbered' in the state of Iowa is just plain ignorant.

At first the media projections really steamed me but I’m actually o.k. with it now. I’m confident the team is going to out and prove everybody wrong. Go Cyclones!

I love it tbh. More bulletin board material for our guys. I don't know how good ISU is going to be this year, but I do know that they will be fired up. Especially for that game in Iowa City. Does this idiot not even pay attention? The Big Ten Sucks. Period. They suck like its their job. Ohio State would maybe finish 4th in the SEC and maybe 3rd in the Big 12 if they played in those conferences.

I don't know what it is, but after seeing KF, the SHPE, cry about media coverage, I just have a feeling that Iowa is in for a long season, and he knows it.
