But it's a prettier drive (lots of skyscrapers) than I-35W going thru Ft. Worth - although the "city on a hill" view certainly is nothing to sneeze at...

Iowa and ISU are rivals. Iowa is our Super Bowl. Iowa State is their Super Bowl. That is how a good rivalry should be, and this series has become a very good rivalry. We shouldn't feel the need to hide from that fact just because some whiney hawk fans like to try to fling it around as an excuse for losing the game. Let them talk, the only reason they are talking is because it bothers them so much to lose, because even though they won't admit it, it is the biggest game on their schedule too (from a fan perspective).

On the map, 35E looked like a far superior route for DSM to Waco than 35W. Also, I think we'll be rolling through Dallas around 8-9PM, hopefully behind rush hour. I'm not sure why, but I'm really looking forward to this trip. Maybe its because I've never been to a game at a South school. It's probably because its my best shot to witness a road win in person since Kinnick comeback...
Re: which game is everyone most looking forward to this year?
Iowa, love the hype, love beating them, LOVE THE YEAR OF TRASHING TALKING AFTER!

I'll be in Waco, pretty short drive for me. And I got a full introduction to the "bear claw" during the ISU-BU men's bball game in January. I know they say "Sic 'em", but it's somehow funnier if I imagine they are saying "Bear 'em!". It's still a lot better than Tech's "Guns Up" or "Shoot 'em" or whatever it is.

I'm surprised more people aren't voting for A&M. I'm really looking forward to that game.

35W is way out of the way really. The two highways split just over an hour north of Dallas. I don't really think there's a ton of "scenery" on the 35 drive ; and 35 between Dallas and Austin is pretty much always under construction (Waco is exactly in the middle between the two cities). It's a really easy drive though, going through Dallas at that time of night will be perfect. Anything after 7 should be fine. Or before about 4 PM at that latest, preferably 3 PM.
When getting to Waco, about the best bar (comparatively, of course) is O'George's, where you can get $2 scooners of beer. Good times... George's Restaurant of Waco, TX
Best road win I saw was the 2005 game at Texas A&M (the Blythe game)... it was one of the most glorious things to be present for!

I got the introduction then too... it's just funny. Like I said about the hand signals though, they all have them:
Tech's Guns Up
Aggies Gig 'Em (but they have hand signals that only each certain class is allowed to do, ie fresh, soph, jr, sr...)
Texas Hook 'Em
OSU has a different Guns Up, they use index and middle finger for the barrel of the gun.
BU's Sic 'Em
I have no idea if OU has one or not... haven't been there yet.
Re: which game is everyone most looking forward to this year?

Last i checked, it's better to beat conference opponents to get to better bowls. beating iowa this year isn't going to be one of those "good" wins that help the bowl selection staff choose us. However, that is one fans opinion to another.

That may be one of the most thoughtful, reasoned, even-toned arguments on that topic that I've ever read. Good job outta you.
Re: which game is everyone most looking forward to this year?
Definitely looking forward to the KU game this year. It is our first true test of the season, and we will have a good shot at being 4-0 by the time we meet up. It would really bring some great excitement to our program and assuming KU is good again this season, there will be a LOT of fans at the game for this one!!
1.) KU
2.) NU
3.) Iowa
4.) MU
5.) TAMU
6.) SDSU
7.) UNLV
8.) Kansas St.
9.) Kent St.
10.) Baylor
11.) Colorado
12.) Ok. State
That was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. I'm excited for ALL of the games!!!
Re: which game is everyone most looking forward to this year?
Obviously its gotta be SDSU cause its less that 3 weeks away!!
Re: which game is everyone most looking forward to this year?

Re: which game is everyone most looking forward to this year?
Easily Nebraska. It has been a long time since we've won a meaningful big 12 north game.
