Just tuned into ESPN

Watchin some guy answer his mailbag. One of the questions was whether Baylor would win a conference game or not. As soon as the question was asked, I knew what was following. Of course, a few sentences into his rambling, he said that they will win one: Iowa State.

Let's just say that did not make my day any better.

Well when you act like a doormat, people will wipe their feet on you. It will take time for this confidence of the other 11 to subside.

Harriet Michaels: Do you actually like haggis?
Charlie Mackenzie: No, I think it's repellent in every way. In fact, I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

While I'd like to get upset, and as much as I believe that we are going to win that game, our recent history against teams on the road isn't very good.

At least we showed some signs of life at the end of last season. Baylor didn't get better at all, as far as I can tell. Their closest conference game last year was a 43-23 loss to Colorado at home. If they had a decent rushing game, I might be worried, but they didn't even rush for 1000 yards as a team.

Unless they've really upgraded in the offseason, or their new coach makes a BIG difference, I think it is unlikely that we lose that game.

True, but we were better then Baylor last year, we are expected to improve this season while Baylor is going though another coaching change. At the very least, I would make it a toss up.

We have to crawl before we can walk... the Chiz era hasn't set in yet. Let us go out and win a few games... then we can still be upset if they call us the tail end of the conference.

The Chiz Era...I like the sound of it...

According to my "rep," I am no longer a glorious beacon of light...but a name known to all

You know what is more pathetic then ISU only winning two road game since '05, Bayor has only won two conference road games in it's history. You want to know what is more pathetic then that, ISU was one of them.

I know this season could probably be 4-8 wins (probably lower of the range)
BUT I wish we just come out and have a 10 win season which would lead me to take 3 days off and put a big Bag a flaming poop on all these "experts" doorsteps. I will videotape it so don't worry.

Oh my gawd! Someone on the television said we'd lose to Baylor!

/panic

Seriously though, have we done anything in the last two seasons that would make anyone outside of Ames think we'd go to Baylor and win?

We have to prove that we can win on the road before people predict that we win on the road. We've got a couple non conference road games that we should be able to compete in and prove that we can do it.

I have to think for a few reasons, Baylor and A&M are two huge games for Coach. I can't see ISU not being ready for either of them!

Has Baylor done anything the last ten seasons to make anyone outside of Waco think that they could beat anyone in the conference--home or away? Seriously?!!

No more of this pathetic mentality, folks!
