Anyone know why some of the players have an Alabama stripe on the helmet? Not that it matters much

Not that it matters much It's probably just a piece of trainer's tape to help distinguish sides or something. I know they have those yellow bonnets, but maybe they need something more than that.

Uh in Pop Warner we got a stripe if we were over 125 pounds so we couldn't carry the ball.
Perhaps that's it? |

I understand that it's to help coaches evaluate film -- can see where players are looking easier with the stripes.

I wouldn't mind seeing a gold stripe on the helmets. I think that would look pretty sweet.

The Michigan helmets have something similar to what was mentioned above. The way I understand it the helmet design is based off of the old leather helmets back in the old days. It represents how the old helmets were sewn together and different pieces of leather to form the helmet. Also, the coaches liked the new design(Modern helmet)and color too so the quarterback can recognize the other 10 team members on the field quickly from the opponents and be able to tell if the receiver or running back was looking at him and which direction he was moving faster when passing the ball and/also the player with the ball can tell quickly which way the blockers were moving.....
