Why Do We Keep Playing the Thursday Night Games?

Why I love it:

Love night games. No sun in my eyes
Love having it two days sooner
Don't have a problem with leaving work early! (We had 9 months to prepare for one day to take time off work)

I love the Thursday night game cuz I take Thursday and Friday off and we get Monday off for the holiday so 5 day weekend! I can see how some find it a pain but personally I love the first game of the year the way it is now!

That will never happen, and probably shouldn't. It is, after all, an institution for higher learning first.

Are you saying that Class is actually more important than Tailgating?!

I've learned just as much at tailgating and football games as I have in any of my classes at ISU!

I wonder what the average percent of attendance is for classes the Friday after the game. I've made all my classes the past two years on Friday, but I bet the numbers are well below 70% attendance.

The lots will open at noon so I'll leave Ankeny at 11 - kinda pointless to drive into work to turnaround and drive back two hours later on Thursday.

I might get back to Ankeny sometime Friday morning or more likely I'll pass out at a friends place in Ames - depends on how much celebrating I do before, during and after the game. Most likely I'll be in no shape to think straight until Friday midafternoon - as you age the recovery period from hangovers takes longer.

So yes, I'll need two days off for this spectacle

Being a season ticket holder from Minnesota the Thursday night game is usually really hard for me to travel to. I have taken a day and a half of PTO to see it this year, but this is the first time I have been able to make it since they started playing them on Thursdays. Saturday would be better for me and I'm not doing anything special for Labor Day weekend so I definitely would have gone. Either way I can't wait for football.

Being a drunk is your choice, you don't HAVE to take any PTO to see the game being that you live 30mins tops away.

People from out of state may have a beef, you my friend don't.

I like the Thursday night game, I've made the last two and will be there again on the 28th. At this point in the year, I can't wait another two days to watch college football.

I like it, gives us more of a chance of being on national tv because nothing else is going on. aka the army game a couple years ago.

The Army game was a friday night game, though I also wouldn't mind the Thursday game it if we had ESPN2 covering it
