Hmmm... does this mean that the news conference was not about season ticket sales, and JP responded to a question about the numbers?

Re: Season Ticket Thermometer
Does that include student season tickets? HaHa, I beat you all to it.

Re: Season Ticket Thermometer
I would have to think these numbers include the mini packs, otherwise they never would've offered them if it was such a GREAT year!

Re: Season Ticket Thermometer
Wow thats a lot higher than the 348 I saw yesterday.

Once again, MontyBurns, you have a call on Line 1, MontyBurns.

But what is the second highest mark? If we're talking low 30's, that's a disappointing dropoff. If it's 34-35K, that's really not bad considering there aren't many traditional marquee matchups on the home slate.

According to the article, the second highest total was in 2006 with 30,728 tickets sold.

Re: Season Ticket Thermometer
I finally remembered to get my season tickets yesterday over lunch -

I'm pretty sure '06 was our 2nd highest in season ticket sales with last season being the highest.

Up until this upcoming season, we went two straight years of beating the old record of season ticket sales meaning that 2006 was the second highest recorded total behind only 2007. Now that doesn't mean that those are the highest of all time because season ticket sales have not been such an important metric for a long time. We sold a lot of season tickets back in the 70s and those numbers may not have been recorded. But as far as records go (recorded numbers), 2006 would now be 3rd all time as apparently 2008 sales will be 2nd.

But like you said if it is low 30's that is disappointing. He say's we are ahead of the pace for the 2nd highest mark ever but doesn't exactly say how far.

Re: Season Ticket Thermometer
I guess when I hear "on pace" - it makes me think "we'll get there, but aren't yet"
But now that you guys mention it, two straight record breaking years of season ticket sales sounds right. So '06 most likely is #2.
So if we're sub 30,7xx one week before the opener - that's more than disappointing. And almost pathetic if Indy is right and they include 3 game mini-packs (probably less that 1000, but still....)
(it also explains why there's no thermometer on the website)
