Herbstriet is the best in the business, if you ask me. The guy does his homework and analyzes games based on individual matchups and team season statistics. Even though he picks Iowa over ISU almost every year, at least he always says in his analysis that ISU has had Iowa's number in the recent past. Most others (*cough* Corso *cough*) just go with the team with the history and tradition.
With Corso, he trashed Troy Davis so badly in the late 90s that no Cyclone fan should ever forgive him. He was the biggest cheerleader for the "garbage yards" argument against Troy in the Heisman race and I thought it was an intellectually dishonest and uneducated argument. The guy is a hack and, unlike other hacks I like, he's not even entertaining.
College Game Day is like most sitcoms. Fowler is the regular guy dad, Herbstreit is the hot wife, Holtz is the annoying neighbor that you can't seem to be rid of, and Corso is the wacky neighbor who always has some crazy get-rich-quick scheme. Sprinkle in a few hot babes for time to time like Erin Andrews and you have pure gold.
May and Holtz have no business being on ESPN. Herby is ok, you can understand him when he talks, knows the game, and explains things so the common fan can understand.
The gap in our economy is between what we have and what we think we ought to have--and that is a moral problem, not an economic one. - Paul Heyne
