My wife is meaner than a snake. I'd have left her a long time ago but I'm scared of her. You do something you shouldn't, and you might find that cigar being someplace it shouldn't be. That is a fearsome woman.

Believe me, I've seen it hundreds of times. Hundreds of times. You might think you're different, but you'll either put the cigar out or you'll go somewhere else to smoke it. She'll turn the entire crowd on you.

That said, I'm off to tailgate. GO CYCLONES BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its almost riduclous how smokers get treated these days. Whatever happened to having a designated place to smoke?

Whatever happened to people in this country having the right to decide what is good for them and what isn't. I didn't want this to be a policital thread, but it may get moved shortly.

Do you think I would go to jail if I blew my cigar smoke in a cops face?

I'm pretty sure that's what this is about. People deciding that other people's smoking isn't good for them. That is, people who elect to smoke despite the fact that they know it isn't good for them.

    And that's not "politics".

Do you think I would go to jail if I blew my cigar smoke in a cops face?
Uh...whyever would you do that? More demonstration of "It's my right to do whatever I want, without consideration for other people"? I'm lost here.

Would you go to jail if you spit in the cops face? Is blowing cigar smoke in the cops face any different?
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. ~ George Carlin

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life:
The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers

I'm back in grad school, so I'm leaving now!!! Of course, I'm in Colorado, so it's not like I can leave to go tailgating. But I'll bet there's a bar with a pint and a TV with my name on it.....

    Re: Cigars While Tailgating

I don't have nearly the problem with this that I do with them outlawing it in bars. It's ISU property. They can choose what they wish to about smoking being allowed or not. I will miss enjoying a nice cigar on gameday in the parking lots, but, oh well, It's not what I'm there for. Merely a guilty pleasure I enjoy. I do hope it's posted though, for visiting teams. I guarantee you, most people won't even believe the police when they tell them there is no smoking. Looks like I'll have to go back to chewing on game days. I wonder if smoke in the air or spit on your shoes is worse? Oh well. I guess my big question is when are they going to ban alcohol from lots as well? I really just see it as another thing in the line of stuff they'd rather not have to deal with on game day.

I will say, it is nice to have bars smoke free, but if it's outside I have no problem with smoking. Now if you need to get your nicotine fix, just quit smoking and take up chewing! Skoal Straight and Copenhagen Snuff work the best.

If they keep banning stuff fans like to do, they may not have as many of them to deal with on gameday either.
Dean Wormer was wrong. Fat, drunk and stupid was a great way to go through college (all five years of it).
