FYI, I wasn't poking fun at anybody. ISU has very good Ag programs so it's no coincidence that a lot of people are wearing ISU gear at a farming function.

I chuckled at this because I knew someone was gonna chime in the way they did.
But this state has a rich farming tradition, to this day....and that includes all fans.
I am proud to be from Iowa, and I appreciate what farmers do.

I hate to be a spoiler in this thread, but they had a promotion that allowed a person to buy discounted tickets to the ISU game along with the purchase of a ticket to the Farm Progress Show. I'm sure most of the people that took advantage of that offer are at the show today and will go directly from there to the game.

On a related note, I attended the Iowa State Fair on August 8. I noticed at least a two to one ISU to UI ratio. I saw at least twice as many ISU fans. Also, the busiest booth in the varied industries building was the ISU booth. Plus giving away the cy hats made it look even more Red at the fair.

I dont think I have every saw that much more ISU gear than Iowa gear anywhere outside of Ames. So how was the largest combine in North America impressive? It looked pretty cool on tv.

Gratitude rather than derision is the way to go. Why bite the hands that feed us?
Perhaps it has something to do with working with one's hands, getting dirty . . . from pre-modern farming days, maybe.
Less than an hour ago, listening to KUNI public radio, a news item related that John Deere will expand its major heavy duty tractor production ability in Waterloo with a $100 million dollar investment to meet increasing global demand for its offerings. That's good ag news in my book.
