I would think these days it's embarrassing to be an eiu fan. If ISU were in a similar predicament as the one in which eiu and its fans find themselves today, I would shuck my ISU gear and lobby for our officials to do the right thing, the correct thing.
I'm a native Iowan, and I wish all our institutions the best possible fortunes. But, as a native Iowan and and Iowa taxpayer, eiu's reprehensible shenanigans in recent years concerning athletes and legalities is immensely embarrassing to the state of Iowa and its peoples.

Not a farmer, but been to a few Farm Progress Shows, and always thought they were cool. Of course, the equipment on display is stuff most farmers can only drool over...

Perhaps it has something to do with working with one's hands, getting dirty . . . from pre-modern farming days, maybe.
Less than an hour ago, listening to KUNI public radio, a news item related that John Deere will expand its major heavy duty tractor production ability in Waterloo with a $100 million dollar investment to meet increasing global demand for its offerings. That's good ag news in my book.
I think a lot of the bad feelings go back to the handouts many million dollar farmers get.
