Good result, although plenty to work on. I wish I could have been there.

My thoughts...
No progress was made in determining who the number one QB is. I can see how the staff is in a conundrum. AA looks great in the pocket and has more poise, Bates is electric and is a decent passer.
We got bailed out by our D a lot for miscues. Those miscues are fine against SDSU, but we will get hammered for them by a better team.
Where was Marquis Hamilton? At least Darks and Sed got some good grabs.
Great to see the frosh kicker come in and make stuff look routine. It will be interesting to see how he kicks outside of 40 yds.

I've never been so unsatisfied with a 27 point drubbing. Too many fumbles, too many bone headed penalties, our interior defense is really going to have to step up.
On the positive, I was really impressed with the way we ball hawked on defense, really seemed to be where the ball was most of the time. Also, WE CAN KICK THE BALL!!!! O-line opened some great holes for the runningbacks. Robinson, Scales and Harris all made hard down hill runs, read blocks well.
The main thing is, you can beat a team like SDSU on shear talent alone and overcome those fundamental mistakes. But that's not going to be enough against teams like kNU, or Iowa or Kansas etc.
If I had to choose a QB right now I'd have to go Bates. That kid is just too good to not have him touch the ball every play.

And I, Bruno, will dive 1,000 feet into a block of cement. On my head, yet!

Go, Boney Mahoney! It's nice to have a dependable kicker! Absolutely! All those picks by the D, and a freshman kicker coming in and nailing them!
