I agree 100%. Awesome. Some people said the paint job was a little faded, but I would think it will be better with each game and re-painting.

Fox did a preview of the '08 season and had clips from our Spring game. I couldn't believe how patchy-brown the field looked last April. It was the worst I've seen the Jack. On TV, the field paint looked a little faded.

Field was amazing. Uniforms were amazing. We scored over 40 points. Our kicker was money. We made big plays. We never got called for false start/holding. Last night was great.

The TV play-by-play guy mentioned several players slipping...

I thought the field looked great too, The logos did look faded. I suppose the Blue from the old logo brings out more color than the Cardinal and Gold look does on a green field, but I am glad they made the switch.

the uniforms were AWESOME. Good lord for awhile I was pinching myself asking "is that really ISU??"
and 46+k for a thurs night game vs a D-IAA opponent on a night when the CIML started also? fantastic attendance.

It did rain about an inch in the morning.

Wasn't there a holding penalty that negated Bates TD run?

I can't believe I haven't seen a thread about this yet....
How was the new concourse? I saw very little of it in my time at ISU, but the few times I was over there is was rediculously overcrowded. I know it's a lot wider now, new concessions and bathrooms and the like... but I was hoping to hear how much better it was for the game day experience from people
Thoughts?

Thoughts? East side is much better, except for bathrooms. Women now have nothing to complain about there, men are shuffled off to both far ends now I believe. Jack Trice Club looks sweet. Approach is much better, and the I-State on the stadium lights up and looks awesome. I didn't see the west side, but my dad snuck through a lot of it. Said it looks great. Luxury boxes are nice and very deep, but not obnoxious in how they stick out. JP's is very bright, he wants everyone to enjoy their gameday experience. He understands there is money in high end tickets, but does not totally cater to them. Attendance was great, what a fantastic night to start the season on.

Thoughts? They did an amazing job. It looks great and is very functional. They now have ramps directly below the new suites so we don't have to go up to the concourse to exit anymore.
My son and I used the restroom 3 times and never waited in a line. We ordered food once and waited through 1 or 2 people. There were a lot of people there last night and no walking vendors and I thought things went perfect.
With the rain that we got I thought the field might clump a little, but it looked just as good at the end as it did in the beginning.

Now that is how to tackle!

The field looked AWESOME!!!! Best grass I've ever seen :-)
They had some TVs on the new concourse which is nice if you go up to grab some popcorn or something. Someone who was there but also has the game on their DVR will have to comment on this but from what I saw when I glanced at the TV was the the logo looked a bit darker on TV than it did in person?!? Maybe I'm off on that though... Anyone else think that?
