Re: Pre-Game Last Night

If the bass drum and the drum major are on the same page, tempo can be kicked up a bit going into Fights.

Which I'm hoping we will start doing, but after that would you agree there's no good place to do a tempo change until God Bless America hits?

I know firsthand that there's no other place to change it.

Re: Pre-Game Last Night

Time to retire the band in favor of pre-recorded clips! I guess I just don't understand why if you play one song at a certain tempo you can't play the next song at a different tempo?

And I, Bruno, will dive 1,000 feet into a block of cement. On my head, yet!

First game kinks will happen we did only have 8 days of practice with the full band before game day this year.

As for Jeff getting his mich cut. Are you actually complaining about that? I'd love it if the student section just started Cyclone Power and that went until the intro music on the board started, followed by fights as the players came out. Timing wise for the end of pregame I thought that was great. I'd just like to here Cyclone-Power get stronger as soon as the band starts going to form the tunnel.

You should send an email to JP suggesting this. It would be a ton better than what's going on now.

The Spirit Walk got screwed up too. JP came over to the firetruck at 4:35 and told us the team would be in at 5:05. We were just about to take off, but we figured JP would know. Then 5 minutes later while JP was still with us, here came the busses. That is only the second time we haven't been able to lead the team in.

We felt bad until we saw the band come through 10 minutes after the players. Too bad, hopefully Eric L will call us next time...

Now that is how to tackle!

WRONG wrong Wrong Wrong,
Wrong Wrong Wrong Wrong.

YerWRong, YERoongggg, YERRong

It can be played at a different tempo it just means pregame needs to be tweaked. As it is written now it just flows one into the other. Given 8 days of rehearsal and more than 1/4 of the band never having marched in ISU style or having done Pregame, that's not a lot of time to learn pre-game, halftime, stand tunes, and to re-write how pregame is done.

A new tempo can be done it's just a matter of reworking some things. Which I'm hoping is possible.

Looks like it's stime to retire some of the fans with dummies that actually get off their ---, cheer, stay for the full game, and aren't ignorant to the realities of a real world timeline.

Sorry, I thought everyone here was onto my sarcasm by now, I was joking about retiring the band.

Re: Pre-Game Last Night

I just want to tell you that the band sounded great to me. I used to play a bass clarinet, and honored for it, but I didn't notice half of the things these guys do. Of course I don't look for things. This was the first time I stuck around for a halftime in years, mostly because I had my son for the first time. I thought you guys sounded very good and I loved the formations.

Re: Pre-Game Last Night

I just dont think they will ever be able to plan the pregame that well at all letting the band play that much. As long as they are going to use the jumbotron (which they should) it will be nearly impossible to get volumes adjusted. Stopping the band from playing when the jumbotron is on and vice versa.

Go Clones! Go Knights!
