Disappointed with a few fans @ SDSU game

On a different but related note, my daughter, an ISU student was sitting in the lower student section. The students in the upper section were spitting and throwing ketchup/mustard soaked hot dog buns into the student section below. I've never heard of that before and was outraged. Is that the kind of students we have coming to the games?

I told her if it happens again to call me and I'll bring my group of friends and some ushers and get them kicked out of - hopefully banned - from the stadium.

I feel her pain Plus the jerk next to me that got beer all over all of us...luckily I refrained from punching him Only because we were winning

One of our styrofoam coolers popped and leaked when we were unloading our bus.

SDSU Fan: "That wouldn't happen in South Dakota."

My friend and ISU Fan: "That's because nothing happens in South Dakota."

The SDSU people next to us weren't exactly the most congenial folks I have met.

Why not just round your posse up and go punch people in the throat? That is what the cool kids are doing these days...

Believe me, that was my first thought - until I remembered that these kids are 25+ years younger than I and could probably throw me over the edge. I just want it stopped and I'd expect the decent students in the upper section to point out the individuals doing it.

Students behaved foolishly. No surprise there. Just make those that can correct it, aware of the issue.

But to get back on the student ticket sales topic? Um...the section did look packed Thursday night...

I'm sorry, but posts like this are pointless. There were probably like 100,000 people there on thursday tailgating/in the game. Posting this thread to the small fraction of cyclone fans (who are mostly true cyclone fans) on here does nothing to change the masses of idiots that go to games. There are always two sides to a story and I am sure they had fans instigate as well, but what can you do. All you can do it complain, but it wont change anything unfortunately.

Um, Thursday night there were a few (a lot) of us. The thing is, after a 3-9 season, you don't really get the casual fan. You put together a winning season and maybe a bowl trip, you'll get more students deciding they want to watch Cyclone football (especially girls).

Stop the press!!! Fans were being rude to opposing fans?!?! Get outta here!! They were cursing them and telling them to go home? The University should pay for them to seek counseling for the emotional toll that ribbing took on them.

Seriously though, this is college football. It will happen. It is stupid and shouldn't happen, but it does. And it happens everywhere. In fact it happens much much less at ISU

I know all fanbases have it... but I ususally hear GREAT things about ISU fans... I remember Minnesota fans praising their treatment from ISU fans in past years... my problem is this:

I heard it from a few friends (girls who don't trash talk anybody) right when they got back... I told them... "oh... you must have gotten unlucky and sat by a bunch of drunks... most of us are great and enjoyable to talk to)...

then... all weekend and at work on Tuesday I hear the same thing from others that went to the game (they all know I'm the ISU alum here... so they come tell me about it) I was just really disappointed to hear these things when I was telling them all how great of a fan base we have.

Again... sounds like they all enjoyed tailgating... we must just have people who get obnoxious when we're winning.

If I were the SDSU fans...I would worry more about the attire they were sporting at the game.

Wrangler jeans/long sleeve shirts under T-shirts? for a 85+ degree game? I was roasting just looking at them walk by.
