The University should pay for them to seek counseling for the emotional toll that ribbing took on them.
What I heard wasn't ribbing. I'll admit it was all "what I heard" but... if any of it was true... this was harrassment. Our fans weren't watching the game... they spent most of the time facing the SDSU fans. I don't doubt SDSU fans were talking trash either... but I'm okay with that... I'm ok with us thinking their obnoxious... I just don't like people thinking that way about ISU.
You can claim it happens EVERYWHERE... but how can we get some fanbases to think we're great... then have another fanbase where I have't heard a single person that had an enjoyable in-game experience (and I'm living in the hometown of that fanbase).
This is my sarcasm pirate. There are many like it but this one is mine.
Students behaved foolishly. No surprise there. Just make those that can correct it, aware of the issue.
But to get back on the student ticket sales topic? Um...the section did look packed Thursday night...
My daughter's already told me she's giving it one more try - but if it happens again she'll never go to an ISU football game again. And she grew up going to ISU games and dreaming of playing ISU basketball.
What is the appropriate "authority" to contact to report this?
ISU fans are the greatest in the world. All they ask for is hope and the belief that we have a chance to win every time we step on the field - Johnny Majors (paraphrased)

They've probably never been in a game environment they've been sooo outnumbered and had to take some potential friendly ribbing that they took personally just because of the sheer number of people.

There is a stadium phone number for such issues. Sorry - don't know what it is. Surely it's on the website.

I would contact the athletic department...as a concerned parent. That would get them into action...one would think.
I sit in the upper deck for 2 reasons:
1. I like the better view and you can see each play develop
B. Nothing gets thrown/dumped on me by drunkards up above(unless its a real exciting TD and someones soda gets knocked out of their hand).

When they flash the security number on the screen, either call them or shoot them a text.

Tell her to sit in the upper student section. Section P has treated my friends and I well for a few years.
On a different but related note, my daughter, an ISU student was sitting in the lower student section. The students in the upper section were spitting and throwing ketchup/mustard soaked hot dog buns into the student section below. I've never heard of that before and was outraged. Is that the kind of students we have coming to the games?
I told her if it happens again to call me and I'll bring my group of friends and some ushers and get them kicked out of - hopefully banned - from the stadium.
Sadly, this behavior is not uncommon with that cohort. Kids who are raised without consequences (no matter how good the intention) don't understand the impact of their behavior.
I feel like such an old guy saying this, but... kids these days - they have no respect.

Fanbases are great....when losing. the fringe tuck tales when we are getting the snot beat out of us by Kent State.
Who doesn't love those lovable losers ISU? (just ask rival Big 12 fans)
When we start to punch opponents around...the fanbase fringe won't be so accomidating to visiting fans.

Sorry man, but I am calling BS on this entire thread. I was at the game, and I was sitting right on the aisle between the ISU and SDSU fans. I didn't see any of the behaviors you are talking about. All I saw was a SDSU fan with a cowbell being extremely annoying. And no ISU fan said one single thing to her. You are out of line coming on here admonishing anyone based on the comments of a few SDSU fans.

Didn't we just have a discussion in the past day or two about the crappy way some of you have been treated in Iowa City? It sounded like a lot of people had decided never to return to Kinnick because of some stupid Iowa fans.
Now we're faced with the fact that some of our own fans may act just the same way, and it's all just part of going to the game.
