Scales and A-Rob each had 100-yard games in conference play, after not having much success or play time in non-conference. Chiz will probably stick with the hot/healthy hand again this year. Hopefully that means we'll have some more surprises in conference games this season, too.
Anyway, my point was that the offensive line improved as the season went along, and I expect this edition to as well. Not only are they starting from a more advanced starting point, Coach McFarland is also trying to work a whole lot more (talented) guys into the rotation--which complicates the process a great deal.
I say 6-6, but 7-5 or 8-4 are not out of the question. Especially if we see improvement like we did last year. Chizik seems to be able to get results and improvement throughout the season. A nice plus.
honestly i think after kent state, cause i think kent state was a pretty good team...i think we will win next weekend at iowa and if we do UNLV wont be to hard of a road test especially cause im betting at least 5 thousand iowa state fans will be there, and i think we'll be confident heading into UNLV and i dont really see us beating Kansas but maybe, if were 4-0, i see us beating Texas A&M but not nebraska...but who knows im gunna go with 8-4
If we win against Iowa, I'd be more worried about an emotional dropoff against UNLV--even though there's two weeks 'til Kansas.
I think that we will be IN every game. The season will come down to how many mistakes ISU makes. Does anyone know how far into the depth charts we went against Kent State?
4 or 5 wins. I'm deflated now by our O-line play.
I am very happy to be 2-0. People need to realize where we were last year at this point in the season and how we improved as the season went on. This is probably the first season that I can walk away from the first 2 games and truthfully feel like we will get better.
We have to clean up the fundamentals. Tackling, personal fouls, blocking, etc. If we can do that, we will get those 6-7 wins people are talking about. I was somewhat disapointed that we had another 4 personal fouls this week and tackled the way we did. I expected improvement.
I predict we're going to the Super Bowl!
I'm not as optimistic as I was. I had concerns about our DL, and it appears I should have been even more concerned than I was.
I was thinking that our OL would be a strength, but they've been anything but that so far.
