I'm not as concerned about the DL as some. Last night they had a very tough assignment with how they had to chase the QB all game. Even for a linebacker this will tear you up. By the end of the game they were probably as tired as during 2-a-days. Yet even with this they continued to put pressure on him nearly every play. It is noteworthy that nearly all theirbig plays came on broken plays. This means that our D was doing a good job at first just not able to sustain. I'm convinced that there is not as much to fix as it might look like on the surface.
Is it true that gameday might come to ames this year agianst kansas if were both 4-0?

I said before the season 4 or 5 wins. I gotta say 5 for sure, but if the O-line doesn't improve we're in trouble. I love the pass blocking, but we have to run if we're going to compete in the Big XII.
Our tackling is putrid right now and with stiffer competition, this might kill us.
I have to say though our special teams is much better than I thought it would be. I think Mahoney could hit a 60 yarder sometime. Brandtner was awesome last night.

Our O-Line is not blocking all that well, so the running game is weak right now.
Our D-Line is not rushing the passer at all. On those rare snaps where he gets under pressure, we haven't been able to wrap them up.
That Kent State game could've been a lot closer. We had some breaks that went our way towards the end. I don't feel better about this game, even though I'm happy to see them 2-0.
10-2 is the best we can go is I belive. The Worst is 5-7.

I am very impressed with our improvement at the start of this season, because we are very far ahead of where we were last season. If we beat Iowa this week, I will change my prediction to 7-5. We would start out 4-0, and I think we would have great momentum heading into conference play. Hardest games will be Missouri, Kansas, OSU, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas State, Baylor, then Texas A&M.
