Defense will get better?

Will the defense get better as the season goes on (like the offense last year), or will it continue to allow foes to run all over us. I don't think the pass defense is that bad, it is the rush defense that has been causing us pain. Some of the problems with the rush D is missing tackles and that can be corrected with some coaching.

We are currently in the bottom 20 of all FBS teams in rushing yards allowed, this after facing Kent St. and SDSU. I'm not looking forward to facing the Big12 with that kind of rush D.

What did you expect after losing Bowen, Banks, Tuba to the NFL?

I think these guys will steadily improve as the season goes on, but it's going to take quite some time.

Of course we'll see some improvement. The coaches are doubtless in the film room right now, rather than watching NFL games. I also don't think we've seen the entire defensive package.

How soon and how much they improve is another question. The only answer is, we'll see.

I completely agree, whether they improve or not isnt the question, it definately is how soon they do.

I think a lot of the problems with the defense is the coaches are running a lot of guys in and out, just trying to see who shows up to play under the lights. I am way more concerned about why the offense can't pick up 1 yard in two plays against a MAC team.
