Pretty much hit the nail on the head there.
Some good, some not so much....All-in-all not bad at this point
I fully expect this HOT/NOT to be completely different next week.
I had no idea our running game was so poor. Let's hope it gets better tomorrow.
It's hard to tell that the tailback situation is bad when the QBs are doing most of the work, and doing it well.
Let's keep in mind that Bates had a 10.1 yard per rush average during the kent state game. A rob didn't play, and we all know he is an upgrade from Scales. Although Scales didn't rush particularly well he did contrbute huge in the special teams. So the running back stat is a bit misleading, we will get our yards on the ground, Bates will do just fine as will A-Rob.....
GO STATE
I know we were missing A-Rob, but frankly, I used to think highly of our RB depth. I hope they get better throughout the year, but we can't just rely on A-Rob to be in the game.
Hard to argue with their points.
JJ Bass needs to step up
Scales is killing that YPC average when he is under 2 YPC.
I think we are a year away from great depth at rb....I am confident that Chizik and Co will figure it out this year though. Weather it is more spread, option or misdirection. I expect the playbook to be wide open tomorrow. I have a good feeling about this game for the first time maybe ever the day before...We are a vastly different team this year than we were last, there is a big play ability this year that i didnt feel we had last year....Not to take anything away from last years team but this is a different animal....

Hope A-Rob is at full strength and Bass is ready.
