"I went to applebees after the game for a bite to eat and a lot of the waitresses had squawk garb on and I just told em you can wait on me but your working for nothing, because their will be NO TIP! So this kid came over and waited on me with NO squawk garb on and so I rewarded him with a big tip!!"
You sound very proud of yourself. Good for you. Another fine example of the Iowa State fanbase.
To the guy who said ISU passed "at will" on Iowa. Yes.....mostly for easy 5 yard outs. Congratulations...you did what everybody else does and what the Hawks intentionally give up. Parker runs a "bend but don't break" defense. It kept you out of the end zone (last year, too!) so it must work. Notice you also didn't get a pass completion of over 20 yards (at least I don't think so...my source is the Des Moines Rag so it could be wrong).
As for "shutting down" our offense. To a point that is true. However, we had receivers open all day....Stanzi just missed them. Had he hit the wide open Brodell (?) on the free play when ISU was offsides...that is a TD and we are up 10. The Cyclones didn't really pressure our QB much and when they did, he was able to elude them fairly easily.

Well, there's always tomorrow. What about the other 3 quarters??

Yes, overall the big 12 is better than the big 10, but if ISU is losing to one of the "floormats" of the big ten then ISU should step it up and prove they can compete against big 12 opponents. If they can't then their argument is baseless... You can't make an argument against the talent of the big ten if your team loses to the teams in the big ten that simply outplays you. ISU is better than the 10th best team in the big ten moron.. in the big ten ISU would be fighting for 5th or 6th, but in the big 12 4th in the north is about the best we are capable of and about 9th or 10th overall. god, ******* use your brain.. if you even have one *******

Re: We know that we matter :)
Maybe we should take up a collection in two years so the Hawks can afford to:
1. Mow the 4 inch grass
2. "Repair" their multi million dollars water removal system.
Whatever it takes, right?

Boys you cant get around this game ...its the biggest game of the year and you cant afford to lose it every stinking year!! Great post Cybobby. This is the most important game every year, for the recruiting reasons you listed. I would rather have the elite Iowa kids (that we're currently not getting) instead of our fall-back second and third-tier kids out of Texas and Florida, and JC transfers. Brodell looked awfully fast, for an Iowa kid, running past us on that punt return.

Re: We know that we matter :)
I think some people might want to take a step back from the computer and let emotions wind down a tad.
What I saw was two teams that played hard. I am a huge cyclone fan, but Iowa won. It does not matter how we played in the red zone or any calls that did or did not go our way. In the end, you have to deliver. If we were better than Iowa we would have scored in the red zone. On occasion the better team does not win the game, but this was not one of those times (ouch).
My advise is not to be a hypocrite. They beat us, and not on one play. Yes the run back was a back breaker, but they kept us out of the endzone on more than one occasion. I just hope that we can bounce back and get a win against an improved UNLV team.
I will take my lumps this year, but looking for revenge in Ames next season.

The point here is that Iowa would always try to play it off as if beating us (or them losing to us) doesn't matter... and we are hitting a point where they are finally acknoledging it and the rivalry can blossom even more as a true rivalry where both sides admit it is what it is...
As opposed to half the people trying to play it down
Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy
