Re: '08 Win Projection After Iowa?!
I don't know what you guys are smoking, Iowa is not a bad team this year. Wishful thinking on your part, but if you think Iowa is worse than they are last year... well... there's nothing I can do to help.
I still think we stand a good chance against UNLV. Arizona State is overrated again? What a surprise! Last night win changes nothing. They'll be a bit more confident next weekend, but that could lead to over-confidence. Prior to this game, UNLV lost 21 of its last 22 games.

Re: '08 Win Projection After Iowa?!
Said 4-5 at the start and will continue to say that.
I also said we had a better chance to win at Iowa than UNLV. I am sticking to that as well.
I believe we will beat A&M, Nebbie at home. The 5th win will have to come on the road, but that will be hard to come by regardless of the opponent.

Re: '08 Win Projection After Iowa?!
ok, Iowa might not be a bad team, but they are not a good team also. The Iowa QB (Christensen or Stanzi), is the worst QB, ISU will see all year. Everyone else has someone respectable at that position.

Re: '08 Win Projection After Iowa?!
I said 3-1 nonconference with the one loss being either Iowa or UNLV and 3-5 in the conference with the wins being Baylor, Texas A&M, and either Colorado or Nebraska. I'll stick with my 6-6 prediction.

Postseason participation 80%. Better. Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step. Re: '08 Win Projection After Iowa?!
Not sure why everyone thinks that the sky is falling? We lost to Iowa in Iowa City in less then average conditions. We made a ton of mistakes and failed to capitalize on some big opportunities to put points on the board. Overall I thought the defense did a better job wrapping up and tackling while the offense seemed to drop the ball when the defense came up big. This was a learning experience for our team and I still think this team is capable of great things.

Re: '08 Win Projection After Iowa?!
Anything less than six wins is a step back. While some of us might see 5 wins as acceptable with the youth, most ISU fans aren't going to. If we end up 5-7, god help me 4-8, you can kiss any south endzone bowling good-bye.

This year the Big 12 (either division) is a scary conference to be in. Wins will not come cheap for the Cyclones. But if the mistakes get corrected, etc, I have no doubt that the 'Clones will beat some teams that they're not supposed to. Something the previous HC hardly ever accomplished.

Re: '08 Win Projection After Iowa?!
This is college football. What happens one week means absolutely nothing the next. You can get blown-out one week and upset the next. If we can find a way to win on the road next week and come out of non-conference play 3-1, you can't really ask for anything more.
The UNLV game WON'T be easy. Many thought we'd beat Iowa and lose to UNLV. IF we win next week, I think we can get to 6 wins.
The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012. -

Re: '08 Win Projection After Iowa?!
Iowa has a first class defense, a decent RB and pretty good WRs and TEs.
They are not a bad bad team. I know they're the scum sucking Hawks but its not that hard to give credit where its due...

UNLV, Baylor, A/M, K-State are must wins. C'mon, we're paying our OC almost $300,000.

Re: '08 Win Projection After Iowa?!
I'll stick with my prediction of 4 or 5 wins. I thought we might be 3-1 in the non-conference though. Still could be, but it will be tough.

Hey guys, wake up. Gene is in his second year. We are playing our first real recruiting class, and there are a lot of freshmen. I think we CAN win 6, but there isn't a lot of pressure to. Next year, anything less than 6 will be disappointing.

Re: '08 Win Projection After Iowa?!
I said 5 wins before the season and still sticking with that. I knew people would get carried away after going 2-0 and what do you think the mood would have been had we gone 3-0 or even 4-0? I figured the Iowa game could be pivotal as going on the road again to UNLV with a loss and now some questions with our kicking game again makes the outlook look a lot different now. Just like coach Chizik said before the season, we'll see some growing pains and I think we saw a few of those yesterday once we finally played an opponent that was more on the same level of competition as ourselves.
