Definitely check with Welch Ave Station....they have had MUCH more on their TVs than any other bar/restaurant in town. I've done lots of checking over the last 6 months. They have always come through for me.
Are you guys sure the game is only available via Direct TV? I have Dish Network and it looks like I can get MTN by adding the sports package.
Anyone with with recent memory, would Mediacom not announce that they will carry the game on their connection channel til later in the week.
Is the book pretty much closed on this happening, due to Mediacom not even having the channel on any tier.
In the past, the connections channel has come through with some channel feeds for a particular game. Given the ISU tie in, it would seem right to try...
Doubtful that "The Mountain" would let mediacom do that, they want people to pony up for their network just like the big 10. Could happen, but I would think you would have heard by now.
My guess is some sports bars have that network
I am still holding out something will get announced.
>>>>It seems as if Mediacom has made one-time deals in the past for the game. Which then...they turn right around and sell ads for the game and usually ends up being a good thing because the interest is there and advertisers would buy. Plus mediacom usually get a nice PR boost as well for getting the game on.
But if the Mountain won't bite, then we have our answer.
Since Mediacom has no existing agreement with The Mtn (at least not that I'm aware of), I think it would be harder to make a deal for this one game. I guess I wouldn't call it impossible, but I don't consider it very likely.
While we're on the subject, this has been mentioned in other threads, but I think it bears repeating for those who've missed it... If you have DirecTV, they're offering a free preview of their Sports Pack this weekend. That includes The Mtn. That means you do NOT have to sign up for their Sports Pack if all you want is to see is this weekend's game.
Dish Network does not offer that channel. It's not listed in their "all channels" programming guide. It's not listed in their "sports pack" guide. The Mountain West website even says that people with Dish Network should call and ask them to add that channel.
The book is closed. You'll need DirecTV unless you live in one of the Mountain West states, in which case you might get it on cable.
As long as the bar/restaurant you're at has DirecTV, they'll have the game. With the free preview of the Sports Pack this weekend, it'll be available regardless of whether they normally have the Sports Pack. Any respectable place should have the Sports Pack anyway, but if they say they don't have it, just tell them to tune to Channel 616. It'll be there.
Did Mediacom show the UNI - BYU game on channel 22?
