Will JJ Bass play Saturday?

I seriously doubt A-Rob makes it through the rest of the season w/o getting banged up....so JJ really needs to step up here. I hope everything works out.

Can you help us understand if that is possible? We all care about our Cyclone players and we want nothing but the best for them. The only problem we have is when players continue to not make the correct choices in there life, and bring bad press to our program. I hope JJ is not doing that, but something must be going on so that gets us all thinking.

The time for him to actually be a D1 football player is slowly winding down. Clock is against him. Hope he gets it going.

I obviously know nothing, nor claim to, but from the statements made by people in the know (33... looking your way) I'm guessing that this is something personal between him and the coaching staff, hence the "thin ice" comment. It's a little early for grades to be a factor, and a legal incident would be publicly viewable, and likely would have lead to his immediate expulsion from the team. Again, I don't anything, just tying the loose ends of this thread together...

Maybe too early for grades, but not too early for an issue such as attendance for either classes or study sessions to cause a problem. No knowledge on this, but just saying that it can't be ruled out.

He came in here as a pretty good JUCO prospect. Talked a very big game about his abilities and where he would lead the team.

He has not produced on that, at all. Reasons, excuses, situation - etc...some wasn't his fault (injury) and some was most certainly his doing (attendance, grades). At the end of the day, he has not produced.

What more is there to understand?

I would have worded it a bit less harshly, but I agree.

Thats not what i speak of in his situation, I speak of his absence of playing time this season. I agree, he has had very sub par performance here, which isnt satisfying to me, because i know he can be an excellent player.

Seems his absence of PT this season was his doing and his alone.

And clearly, we're not getting a lot of production from that position, whether it be the back's fault or the line, but supposedly the guy could be helping us.

And, he's not - period.

So either he's not all that he's cracked up to be or we plain won't see him this year because he hasn't gotten his stuff together off the field. And it's odd that at least one person up there that should know why he's not playing - has no idea (no, I'm not referring to you, 33). Quite peculiar.

It's clear a guy can work his way out of Gene's doghouse (See Devon McDowell)...so if that were an excuse he or anyone else was using - it would be crap, IMO.

Until I see Bass on the field, I really don't anticipate we'll see him at all...which is a shame.

Wallace Franklin is suppose to be in the clear now too, i dont know how much time he will see however.

Has anyone explained his situation? JJ was one of the players that excited me most about this season. All of this ambiguity about him and what problems he may have is probably just making some imagination's wander to something much worse than is the actual truth.
