I honestly don't know what to think....

First off, I preface this post and thread by openly stating that at best I am a casual ISU football fan. I certainly follow the team as much as I can from out here in Colorado (I was able to watch the game tonight on the Mountain Crap channel), but I probably couldn't tell you our two deeps or who our best incoming recruit is.

That first half was an abomination. The local high school team I watched last night probably could have scored on us and kept our offense to one touchdown. I was almost as upset with that as I was after the Missouri and Kansas games in '04 and '05 respectively.

And then we come out in the 2nd half and we are a completely different team! I do have to wonder why we haven't been playing J.J. Bass more. I really thought that our offense was much better with him in the backfield.

Austen Arnaud became a man tonight. Bates certainly has talent, but I think that we need to stick with one guy, and based on what I saw tonight Double A is the man.

I wonder if Chizik was tempted to pull a Woody Hayes and slug Leonard Johnson after he cheap-shotted the UNLV QB. I know I would have been.

I think UNLV is a decent team. That QB is pretty good. They would have stomped Iowa.

Sorry for the Larry King style of writing here, but I just wanted to get these thoughts off my chest.

At halftime, I honestly thought that we would have topped off at 2 wins this season. I still don't think we're going to a bowl, but I hope we can really build off our 2nd half tonight, as disappointing as the loss must be for the team.

Well, if you re-define "stomped" to mean that then it seems like a less ridiculous claim, certainly.

I knew it wouldn't be long before someone tried to soften our loss via the Iowa loss (or baseless hypothetical loss to the team that beat us).

Neither team is very good. I thought that was established last weekend. Their bad just happened to be less sucky than our bad last weekend. So what.

I think the butt chewing he got, the punisment he will get, and the players getting on him will be worse than a punch.

Yes they are their best QB hasnt even played yet.

Better go do a night check on your women's basketball team... we all know how the rest of your athletes like to treat them.

Please don't put thoughts in my head. In no way am I trying to "soften" our loss. I'm just writing my opinion on UNLV. I think they are a decent team with some good talent on offense and that based on what I saw from them tonight and what I saw from Iowa last week that they would beat the Hawks.

Back on subject...We looked great for one half -minus overtime...I keep thinking to my self this is still a young team.

I dont care who you root for 98 yard in under 2 minutes is an amazing accomplishment.

seriously, jamie vandenberg, is a shoe in for the heisman

JJ Bass needs more playing time. I think Double A is our starting quarterback after what I heard on the radio. The drive at the end of the game impressive and he can run to. Once again we shot ourselves in the foot with costly idiotic penalties. If the team can put together 60 minutes and not 30 I think more wins can definitely happen.
