Chizik confirms LJ will play vs Kansas

ISUFan22 Today: Well, whatever coach thinks is best is ok with me.

It's ok man, people make mistakes. Sometimes you just have to man up and admit your errors, it's tough, your wife will think less of you, but it must be done.

I say silence it, its over, Chizik addressed it the way he believed was appropriate. LJ appologized. He will play against KU, and with irony, will probably have some drastic positive effect on us winning the game.

Not once did I say whatever Gene thought was ok with me. I still stand by wanting LJ to sit next weekend against KU. But it's done.

I don't think that wanting a more severe penalty for him than what he got is "serving him up on a skewer".

I, and others, still think he should be sat a minimum of one game. I'd like to see him sit 2 or 3. I don't see how anyone would think that there wouldn't be apologies. That's pretty much a foregone conclusion.

I don't think there's anything in what ISUFan has said that's not consistent.

This is tough as Chizik is trying to install a little swagger in our guys and part of that is not taking crap from opponents. Other than the QB hit at Vegas and the punt return early hit at Iowa (Well worth 15 yards IMHO) most of our PF penalties have been jaw jacking or shoving. I can live with a few of those . I think the reason our guys miss so many tackels out in space is they are trying to inflict a little pain which I can live with also. As they mature I'd say both PF penalties and missed tackles should improve.

What he said! LJ is our best defensive player and a super kid! Actually, with him in at the end last week, we may have had a W in the column. He's that good. He's young and will learn.

D1 football is a very hard hitting, very fast game, it cannot be learned to play sitting on the bench. LJ needs to play through his mistakes, if he has a PF against Kansas I'd sit him for a series and put him back on the field unless it was extremely blatent. IIRC Matt Roth came close to a PF every game as a senior and he's a hero for some.
