A couple drunks called in, one guy called in to "give a shout-out to Denny in Clear Lake", and one guy called in to get in the Guinness Book of World Records for saying "uh" the most times in one phone call.
One guy called and said something that I thought about calling in to say - he liked the trick play in the UNLV game, when Hamilton passed it to Arnaud and Austin just brushed the shoelaces. Chizik said they've got quite a few of those worked up that they've been saving for Big XII play, so I definitely look forward to that!

Chizik was very gracious towards that guy, told him to send the info to his recruiting coordinator. Can't hurt I guess.

Question for the day: Can I still make season tickets work for FB and MBB if I move to Canada? |

It's also not the Jim Walden (big fish in a small pond recruiter) show. I trust that Chizik's staff has a good handle on which local guys are worth looking at. More than likely, the caller was hoping that he could get some attention for his daughter's boyfriend who is tearing it up in the 8-man league.

Apparently there must not have been much else of substance on the call-in show? I did hear on another thread that Chizik said they weren't going to sign a qb this year--any confirmation or clarification? Seems strange with only three on the roster.

The future is bright with the young starters and they have started to target more impact position players in the draft.
Sorry if you happen to be a former 8 man stud who coulda/shouda been a star, but most of the callers who try to pimp their local heros are simply clueless. As far as not being impressed with the callers, have you ever actually ever heard any of them contribute anything worthwhile? I could listen to Gene or Greg talk on their own for the entire hour and the shows would be much better.
