Sips certainly wasn't like that when I was in school, but then again, I'm getting old. I always thought People's was pretty 'frat heavy' too.

I guess I never thought of any bars in Ames as Frat heavy, maybe Element when I was there my last year of grad school

You just had to look for Abercrombie and Fitch shirts and cockeyed hats and visors. That was the outfit back in my day anyway...

I wore A&F button downs with my huge rodeo belt buckle, trust me I was pretty far away from being in a frat.

Shortly thereafter. It was the Long Shot (Saloon?) My former roommate/current co-worker and I struggled to remember that one. I could only remember that I always thought it sounded like the name of gay bar and that the only reason I went there was b/c they never checked my ID (and I was 18/19.)

One of my favorite memories in that building involved seeing the Mad Caddies and heading for cover in the basement w/ them when tornado sirens went off. Their album at the time? "Duck and Cover" Kind of funny explaining what was going on to a group of guys from California
