According to the affidavit, "(The witness) stated that there was mention of a necklace and medallion that was being worn by 'Boss.' (The witness) stated that someone in the group wanted to rob 'Boss' of his necklace. (The witness) stated that the bullets were not meant for Griffith, but was meant for 'Boss' (who was in a vehicle in front of Griffith's). … The firearm recovered from the search warrant … was a .380 pistol. Forensics revealed that the .380 auto pistol was matched to the projectile recovered" at the crime scene.
