I think people are also underestimating the impact of parent's weekend - we always get a boost that day.

I think we'll see 52,250. Nice weather, conference opener, ranked opponent, an improved team = good attendance.
And family weekend!!
| Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans… I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care… I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it… let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

What most people don't know is that the $5M donation actually came in before the UNLV game. JP took that money and went to a roulette table at Bills Gamblin Hall and put it all down on 00 and won. In the last two weeks they have built 3 invisible decks in the endzone, which they will paint Friday night so people can see them Saturday monring. So there will actually be around 68,000 people at the game.

That would be the smallest crowd we've had in two years. If thats the crowd, I will be very disappointed. I'm going to say no way on this...

I think you're right about the lack of limit to hillside seats, but it seems they pull some arbitrary # (55K i believe) to set as a "sell out". We've had at least 45K every game of the Chizik era, and we have 45K in actual seats, but they call 55 a sell out, which has to include the hills, which there is no limit to. Confusing stuff. I think they should call equate our capacity with the # of available seats. It makes our stadium sound smaller, but we would have a nice sell out streak going right now...

On the westside there is now it seems like a lot more standing room only space on the stairwell and lower level walkway.

I think we'll have at least 50,000. Probably somewhere around 51k.

Only game I've ever left early - to convince my friends to stay I said we would leave if they got down by 31 or some arbitrary number. We did with plenty of time left in the game and we were out.

That does not surprise me at all. The first half of that game was one of the most miserable days i've had in JTS. You just knew Dan was done at that point. When I said two years, I meant last season and this season, btw.
