Bates wears neutral colors to NU game?

According to several different Nebraska and Iowa newspapers, Omaha native Phillip Bates attended the Nebraska-Virginia Tech game this weekend wearing "neutral" colors. According to Bates, "I tried to just shy away, have neutral colors on so I wouldn't have any problems."

Just for argument's sake, would wearing a little Cardinal and Gold to the game be so bad? I'm not saying Bates is ashamed of ISU, but don't kids nowadays like to "represent"?

I don't wear Dowling clothes when I go watch other teams play.
You're making too much of this.
How much crap would someone take wearing ISU clothes at Nebby?

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

If I remember correctly, he took a lot of crap when he picked ISU, so him not wanting to go through it again is completely understandable.

Please! I seem to recall a thread on this site after the UNLV game about some tool of a fan that was wearing hawkeye gear at the game. Bates wearing ISU gear to the NE/VT game would be no different than that...and maybe worse since he is actually a player. Why in the world would he wear ISU gear to that game unless he was trying to incite something? If we didn't know before, we now know the kid has a good head on his shoulders and good manners.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Oh for crying out loud, this is almost as bad of a topic as the how long does Chizik get.

So the kid doesn't want to draw unwanted attention to himself. Big freaking deal.

It would be physically impossible for me to care less about the colors Bates wears to an NU game.

Given that he was heavily recruited by th eHuskers I can totally understand. Shame on anyone who questions his loyalty based on this.

Has anyone ever thought PB was checking out a future opponent also? It was an off week. PB is a Cyclone. I am sure most people in the world would not like to stand out like a sore thumb in that game. Nuff said.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Was he wearing black or white shoes? This really makes a difference as to what he is going to do according to his facebook!
