Re: Robert MacFarland and Wayne Bolt

Mac was really high on the offensive line though! He said that 7 of the 10 linemen that they have are either freshman or sophomore, and thats not including the one's that are redshirting right now. I can't remember who he was talking about but he was saying that one of them was about 360 pounds and was just a beast in practice.

Eh.

He said the same thing about the redshirted linemen last year and I have yet to see the results to match the hype.

Mayhaps practice performance has something to do with that smallish defensive front we have...

He said that some of the guys (Haugton and Hicks) were just beasts in practice and drills. But when it comes game time, they are slow basically because they are thinking too much. It's just going to take time to get them acclimated to the game and working with the unit. McFarland did say that Haughton was one of the most talented OLs he's seen and he's put quite a few in the NFL.

Mentioned some nice weight gains for Maggitt, Burress, Laing and McDonough. Maggitt is basically unblockable in practice and already up over 230. Burress has put on 28 lbs of muscle already.

Do or do not, there is no try .....Yoda

Thats exactly what I figured. We have a lot of gifted Oline who is taking time to completely understand the offense.

Re: Robert MacFarland and Wayne Bolt

Offensive line is a tough position to play and you rarely see freshmen starting there. In time we will be very good there.

As long as Burris is putting on good weight. We don't need Fine-esque tobs o' lard.

Maggitt has a long way to go, but at least 230 is a start. He had a little while before anyone is relying on him.
