Our Endzones

This is about the endzone art and other additions to Jack Trice. (I don't know if this has been discussed yet this year- if so, let's talk about it again.)

1. Our endzones look sweet. Finally that crappy "font" they had before and the navy blue are gone....forever. But I really like the look.

2. I love the new I-State Logo, doesn't look too bad at midfield. (Although I would rather have nothing in the middle, but ahh...what can you do.)

3. You know on the east side of the stadium, on the outside in lights, it used to have Iowa State University? Now it has Jact Trice Stadium on it..... I don't think they needed to do that. All they should have done there was add the I-State Logos around the old ISU sign. But it really doesn't look to bad...maybe I'll grow to love it.

4. The Black Scoreboard in the south endzone.....the I-State mark and the Jack Trice Logo under it looks sweet.

(Things I want changed when the stadium is finally complete....all seats need to be painted cardinal. None of this Cardinal section color then Gold Section Color....that needs to go I think. Right now....looks dated/hokey. An idea if they do paint it all Cardinal...choose a side in the stadium and paint some sections of the bleachers with I S U in gold....kinda like LSU...if anyone has seen it.... would be real classy-)

I prefer the Jack Trice Stadium sign over the Iowa State University sign.

I've always thought it'd be kind of nice to have regular stadium seating instead of bleachers. I spend most of the game standing, but our bleachers are pretty crappy, even for bleachers. At the very least, they need to get a new paint job on those so the colors brighten up. I think the idea of going with one solid color is a good one, although I like the way it is now. Imagine if we had all cardinal seats and then managed to get most of the crowd wear cardinal, awesome!

#1 Endzones do look awesome...thought that when I picked up my tickets after they had just painted them.

#2 The I-State on the middle of the field is wearing on me and I like it more each time I see it.

#3 The back of the scoreboard is sweet! 'Nuff said

#4 I like Jack Trice Stadium on the outside because nothing really identifies it (Hilton at least says Hilton Coliseum on the outside) and the gateway from the south (which is the most utilized way onto campus) looks great and says Iowa State University.

#5 I don't mind the color change, just make it all consistent. Some of the cardinal is faded, some looks ok, same with the gold seating.

#6 I can't wait for Phase II to be done so the nice fence around Reiman Gardens encompasses the entire complex.

#7 The gateways on the north side need a SERIOUS makeover. Does anyone know if that is anywhere down the road?

I was in Ames last week for the first time since May and the black sign on University Blvd really stands out. All the foliage and signage in that area looks really terrific. Can't wait to go back in October for the A&M game.

I really like the "Jack Trice Stadium" on the outside, it looks awesome. I also like the back of the score board with the I-State. I can't wait til the stadium is bowled in. I think it'll only improve the atmosphere at Jack Trice.

I think you're right about the all cardinal paint, that would look really slick. Let's get a program changing win this weekend to help boost these talks!!

Maybe they could paint the seats to match donation levels, like Dodger Stadium....

I agree with pretty much everything, except the signage.

I really like the back lit Iowa State University sign. It doesn't bother me that they changed it to Jack Trice Stadium. I'm not a big fan of the bright, drive-thru look however.

Not that it's bad, just thought the old one had a lot more classy look.

One thing I wish they would do - last week for the Oregon State/USC game, OSU had their stadium name/logo on the field. I thought that would be pretty cool if we came up with a sweet logo for JTS. ISU has the only stadium named after a black athlete. Something I think we should market a little bit more/make readily apparent.

I like the emblem in mid field. If we do have TV coverage, people chiming in will see it. Anything to promote ISU is a positive.

My biggest gripe about the new renovation to the concourse, is that they didn't cover the support beams for the second deck. It would of given JT a much more classy look if they had just moved the suite walls out a little and built the walls to the suites all the way to the second deck. Right now it reminders me of one of those trailer homes with roof built over it.

Did anyone else like the idea about the all cardinal painting for the seats? Or the "ISU" painted somewhere on various bleachers so we can see it from afar?

A) I guess the bleacher thing is not that big of a deal to me.
B) I would think that this would be something that would happen after the end zone is bowled in so they can make the whole stadium match.
