Cyclones Entrance: Taking the Field

do they at least show tornadoes and/or storms on the video board when the team takes the field? perhaps scenes from the movie "Twister"? that may be a bit sensitive considering the destruction the state of Iowa has seen from tornadoes in recent months.... but lets face it, we have a very difficult mascot/nickname to deal with when it comes to mimicking or shaping into human form.... if I had a dollar for everytime I've explained Cy and "cyclones" to those not from Iowa I could help fund the bailout of wall street..

Since Cy is a Cardinal, let's have him fly in from the top of the Jacobson building. And then wave the team onto the field.

Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket.

OK - I'm making fun. But it would be VERY cool if ISU could come up with something unique.

You and me both. I've lost count how many times I've been asked why we have a Cardinal for a mascot when we're known as the Cyclones.

One big problem with the video board is that it is at the south end and the team enters from the north. Hard to coordinate anything in that situation.

I still say start off by showing the team making their way to the field playing "Ecstasy of Gold", then just before they make their way out lead into "Pulse of the Magots"!!!! THAT WOULD GET ME SO PUMPED!!

(You know how everyone uses "smoke"/dry ice now for entrances? I think Miami started that whole trend? We need something unique..because right now we don't look original at all.) -(Now we still have the "Tornado-Bird" logo as a secondary logo....) Why not build a device that Cy the mascot can get into and drives, but here is the ticker... it is spinning from his waist down...making him look like a cyclone. All Cy would have to do is pump his fist and lead the team on the field. I think it would be funny/then could become real cool. You know, our thing. If some engineer could build that I think that would be sweet.

I mean OU has the sooner schooner...Wake Forest's demon deacon drives out on a motorcyle...that was original...Does Texas come out with Bevo? USC has the white horse thing... FSU has the Indian thing... this could be ISU's thing?

Thoughts?

lets get even more gimmicky. I know, lets put a pirate ship in the end zone...oh wait, thats been done. gimme a break.
