Someone raised the question whether we are historically the worst team in the Big12. I stumbled on this website the other day and I thought I would share it with everyone. It also lists school records year by year, and you can compare two teams against each other. Query historical college football results
rank\team\winning %
3 Texas 71.8
5 Oklahoma 71.2
8 Nebraska 70.2
21 Colorado 60.2
22 Texas A&M 60.2
56 Missouri 53.9
67 Texas Tech 50.9
69 Kansas 50.9
72 Baylor 50.6
96 Iowa State 46.1
100 Kansas State 43.3
60 Iowa 52.4

Interesting...we are the only team in the Big 12 that has never won a game on a neutral field? Does this not count bowl games?

Where are you looking? I found one that said we have not played any BigWest, Big12 or Big10 team on neutral field and that we have won against one BigEast and MAC team, but I haven't found any rankings for neutral sites. Iowa State vs conferences 1920-2007 | |

That is a great site. The neutral just means we haven't played any neutral conference games. Which we do this year, don't we at KSU?

Also, I just caught it, but in the one conference breakdown it has us with 13 wins against the Big 10, but it looks like it should really be 23.

Why is it that between 1937 and 1980, we did not play a single Big10 team at home? That is poor scheduling if you ask me- it's no wonder ISU became the door mat team. We are heading in the right direction now though.

Wait, that game wasn't in Ames in '78 or '79?

Baylor 11-85 Conference Record 1996-2007 When looking at our record against each Big12 opponent, we actually have better records then Kansas St. and Baylor. Not the greatest, but at least we are not the worse.
