You think Mahoney would take a little heat? About half this board would have tracked him down in Ames and burned him at the stake. We saw what this board thought of him when he missed his first 2 or 3 field goals during the Iowa game...

As far as losing, while I think everyone would rather have won (seriously who wouldn't?) my choices for losing go something like this:

1. Not recover the onside kick.
2. Not complete the passes like we did
3. Missed field goal.

Obviously we all wanted the win, but I'm just asking for these two outcomes. I personally choose the way it went down because the loss is on the team and not so much the kicker.

Again, we all want to win, so don't come to this thread if you're going to rip on the question or say "I'd rather win."

Take the question that is asked, or don't answer at all.

Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

Re: Ending question

wow, one bad game and you still have no confidence in the kicker. did you not watch yesterdays game? 43 yards into a stiff 20mph wind good by at least 10 and you are saying he would have missed WITH the wind? Come on, have some faith in your team and the kicker. Btw, he hasnt missed a kick SINCE the Iowa game and that includes a clutch kick against UNLV and a huge clutch onside. Have some faith.

Re: Ending question

Seriously, this is what it's come to already? How would you rather lose? For God's sake, at least give us the option to say, We'd have rather won. I don't think if you ask anyone on the team, especially the kicker, that question you'd get the answer your looking for. If our kicker has any guts at all, he'd have said he wanted the chance to kick the ball because he'd have made the kick. Any other answer is unnacceptable. I'm sorry, but we are beyond "The best way to lose"

Re: Ending question

Of course everyone would rather win, that's not the question. Want to ask that question, make your own thread. I'd personally rather move the ball and miss a field goal. Our last drive looked completely inept, that's not a good way to go out.

And I, Bruno, will dive 1,000 feet into a block of cement. On my head, yet!

I was commenting on how dumb the question is. A loss is a loss. Doesn't matter how we lose, we lose.

Is Ditka the kicker?

"Seiler, on the option...trying to the turn the corner...HE POPS FREE to 40, to midfield, to the 40, to the 30, to the 20, inside the 10. Marvin Seiler almost breaks it all the way 77 yards to the Nebraska 3 yard line."

Ah, I see, you came into this thread just to say how stupid the question is, gotcha.

I agree with some of the others....it's a loss regardless how you look at it

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
