Re: Feeling good about Baylor or not so good?

We need four good quarters of football to beat Baylor. Baylor has improved of recent so Iowa State better be ready to play and mean it not just say it. I am not worried about there mobile quarter back it is the rushing attack that has me worried. Baylor's QB is not as good as Reesing is, but he is pretty good. I think we need to blitz a little in this game to keep that qb in check. On offense I really would like to see a half back and full back in the game at the same time just to see how it goes maybe open up some more holes. All in all I think we win, this team is so close to four quarter football, but who knows I will not believe it till I see it hopefully it is this weekend!!!

The objective is to set up the play action pass. If you exaggerate the hand off on every play the defense will begin to get lazy once they see the QB reach out his hands to hand the ball off. Then you can pull the ball back in on a play action pass and right over the top we go.

Re: Feeling good about Baylor or not so good?

I feel like the KU game this year was the OU game from last year. We went 2-2 last year after the OU game, with a terrible loss to KU at the end. I believe we will do better than that and go 4-3 in conference the rest of the way. It all starts in Waco. I think we will put together 3.5 to 4 quarters of good football. I do not believe BU is as good as KU or UNLV. I think we cross the road and get it done this week. I thought we would play KU well and we did. Just couldn't get the one more stop to keep it a one score game. Just couldn't make a play after the on-side kick. We will put it together against BU.

Friends don't let friends wear black & gold. Build a man on fire, you keep him warm for a day. Set a man on fire, you keep him warm for the rest of his life. Set a hawkeye on fire, you make Iowa a better place to live.

Combine three games of frustration along with rising confidence that we can comeback from anything, I look for the possibility of a big win. If we can't establish the run early, then abandon it and chuck the football. We have a great group of receivers and appear to be close to being able to spread the field Texas Tech style.

Hopefully there are still pissed about the KU game and take it out on Baylor. Not to suggest that they accept a a moral victory but the KU game should give them some confidence that they can play with anybody.

Forget about consecutive road losses, forget about streaks, forget about every game prior to Kansas, the start of conference schedule is the start of a new season in my eyes. The start of a new season that I believe the Cyclones can be very productive and successful in.

I think a case can be made that both teams suck pretty bad.

Bates needs to run some plays.

Re: Feeling good about Baylor or not so good?

Everybody doubts Reesing because of his size. He took over the starting job midway through the '06 season, he's 19-3 compared to Griffin's 2-3. You do the math. If ISU can stop the run this game won't be close. If not, it's going to be shootout and maybe the last team with the ball will win.

OU had a hard time stopping Griffin, I doubt ISU can stop him.
