Ever hear of a guy named Mike Singletary? Baylor rocked back in the 80s. People outside of Texas tend to forget that. But there are lots in Texas that have short memories as well.
Re: Message from a BU fan
We haven't been a power, to be sure, but 1987 is irrelevant to this game. We can talk all day about irrelevant stuff if you want but on a different board.
Re: Message from a BU fan
In the mid-late 70's Iowa State had a few really good seasons with Earle Bruce as the Head Coach (before he went to Ohio State). Went to a few bowl games when there were only 8-10 bowl games around...I don't know much about Baylor back then, fill me in on the good teams Baylor had.
Re: Message from a BU fan
Are we talking about football in 08 or are we trying to relive the glory days? Get real, talk about this game. I'm sure the Clones will come into Wacko and be scared of playing you because of the 80's. THE PAST IS THE PAST. I seriously doubt more than 20 of your players give a crap or even know about the Bears of the 80's. Why should you? or us?

You can relive the Baylor glory days on the thread titled 'Pick the winner Baylor vs ISU'. Some BU fans, including myself, provided some brief examples of Baylor success by posting in that thread.

"I'm not here to talk about the past".......Mark McGwire
I think it will be a fun, entertaining, Texas shootout. Go STATE!
Re: Message from a BU fan
I am only responding to the statements by ISU fans that we suck, never been any good, blah, blah, blah. That sort of talk is simply false. Ask Texas what team gave them the worst beating in Austin in their history.
Re: Message from a BU fan
i'm guessing Baylor, 50-7
Re: Message from a BU fan
I understand what you are saying about your past, but don't come on here and say that you are going to continue to dominate us and not expect to be talked back too.
Re: Message from a BU fan
I don't recall saying we were going to dominate, I just said we were going to win.

Most Texas fans I know do not know the answer to that question. They're too myopic to see anything outside themselves, A&M, or Oklahoma.
Most even have no idea who Iowa State is, let alone that we're in the same conference.
Re: Message from a BU fan
Bingo!!! We should have shut them out but by then we had in our 3rd string.

Yes, and did you also know that the Texas flag is the only flag in the nation which can fly at the same height as the American flag. Texas used to include parts of modern day Kansas and Oklahoma. Baylor was chartered by the sovereign nation of Texas.
What does this have to do with Saturday's game? About as much as Baylor's FOOTBALL history, not a ******* thing!
Go State!!!

Does that sound familiar? Oh and if 3-4 against us is continuing to beat us, than you need to take a math class.
Re: Message from a BU fan
Wow, some of you have real anger issues don't you?
