Re: What if Neb. has our play book

If I was coach and somebody asked me what I thought if Nebraska had our playbook - I'd say... Well, maybe they can do more with it than we've been able to.

The sad truth is that the last thing we need to worry about is if they have our play book. We need to learn to use it ourselves if we expect to be consistent.
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

lol, I remember my little league coach always told us, "I don't care if they know the play we are running. If you do your job, the play will work." I kind of like that mentality.

Ummm, it's Nebraska! And TO at the helm of the AD. Those two facts and "ethical" don't really belong in the same sentence.

But I agree, the possibility isn't much to fret over.

Somehow I doubt that will happen. I don't think that Bates hates ISU he just wants an opportunity to start at QB which he feels he won't get here. I doubt he will be emailing Pelini our playbook.

Do you think our playbook is a pdf file? Or maybe a ghetto text document?

I saw with my own eyes and heard with my ears the coaches tell him to dispose of it because it was property of Nebraska football and he could get into a lot of trouble for distributing it. So it was shredded on the spot.

    Agreed. This is totally possible.

Maybe when he is getting ready to hand it to Pelini he will have a change of heart and not do it just like Greg Brady.....

Obviously GC and Co. will change signals and signs - but I think this might put ISU in a huge disadvantage. It is not too often your QB changes during midseason and runs to a team that you are going to play in 2 weeks.

Maybe I am just a little parnoid.
This is absolutely the stupidest thing I have ever heard in a long while. Forget being paranoid, you're beyond that and something more for first off thinking it, let alone posting it. I'm not one to attacked individuals on this board for voicing their own opinion, but this is preposterous and out right stupid.

Alright so a guy is transferring, lets give him a bit more respect that what this above post is even showing. I'm surprised this thread is still even open because this is the dumbest, most disrespectful post towards one of our past players I've seen in awhile.

I think NU was behind this from the beginning. They told him to go to ISU just long enough to get his hands on the playbook so he could then quit, transfer and bring it to them.

first of all there has been some real dumb stuff on this board so i do take some offense to your comments. Really, its that far fetched??? the kid quits on his team in teh middle of the year, moves out of his apartment during practice so he doesn't have to face anyone. Now if he is planning on going to Nebraska, what better way to win over his new team with a little inside info. This stuff happens all the time in the business world, not to think it wouldn't happen here ESPECIALLY after Nebraksa loosing two weeks in a row on national TV at home. Nebraksa is desperate.

I never said it was going to happen, just think it is a real possibility.
