Early lines
Neb -6 in Ames. I cannot believe the spread is that close. The last two games were the same for each team, except Neb had the close one this week and ISU had the blowout loss.
Iowa is a 3.5 pt favorite vs. Wisconsin
Texas -7 vs Mizzou
Penn St -23 vs Michigan. (When has Michigan been that big of a dog?) http://www.locksmithsportspicks.com/...all-odds.shtml -

Re: Early lines
I don't see why this is that surprising. Nebraska is not that good, and we have played well at every home game since the Texas game last year. Not calling for a victory here, but any more than a TD favorite for Nebraska would of surprised me.

The reason this is surprising to people is that they tend to overreact to bad losses, great wins, and good efforts in games that aren't supposed to be close. The oddsmakers look at the whole picture without overreacting, and they're usually right.

Re: Early lines
How is Iowa a favorite besides being at home? Also, take Texas all day, at least if it is at Texas. They are very good.
I hate Michigan so that really makes me smile.
Great year for Iowa not to play Michigan and OSU huh? Both teams are down.

Re: Early lines
No kidding about Iowa. They are terrible. Wisconsin will embarrass them in Kinnick. If we were in the B10 this year, we'd probably win or get 2nd.

Re: Early lines
Super Book.com only has it as neb -5.5

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good. Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better. Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step. My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk,superdorf, clones_jer. That is all. -

I hate the Hawks, but I've got to disagree. They've looked bad at times this year, but they're still a very physical team that matches up well with Wisconsin, especially at home.

Especially their defense. Originally Posted by CyPride No kidding about Iowa. They are terrible. Wisconsin will embarrass them in Kinnick. Wisconsin got pasted by Penn State (after losing to aa bad Ohios State team--both at home) and Iowa completely dominated Indiana on the road, and a relatively young team is maturing behind a young quarterback. Iowa wins this one.
Michigan sucks. That's almost as fun to say as "Notre Dame sucks". -
