What are your thoughts about this weekend garn? I think this is a game ISU can be competitive in, although my confidence is pretty shaken after last week. We heard all about how BU's pass defense sucks from Baylor fans last week and they effectively dominated ISU in every phase of the game.
Just looking at some ISU stats...your defense has forced 17 turnovers? Wowser. How many points has been converted off those 17 turnovers?
I'm a little surprised by Arnaud's total stats, I would've thought his passing yards would've been higer, but a nice 60% completion rate. Your yards rushing per game is about on par with that of Nebraska.
Nebraska's secondary has been used and abused all season and that worries me going into every game and there's injury concern at LBer...Glenn & Dillard are "day-to-day".
For whatever reason, ISU appears to be Jeckel and Hyde team...minus the KU 2nd half meltdown, ISU has played well @ home. So that's something for Nebraska fans to be a little worried about.
I liked the gameplan NU had last weekend, conservative, short dunk passes that kept Tech's offense off the field.
I think the game will come down to Nebraska's secondary, that and the injury status of Glenn & Dillard. If ISU can have success throwing the ball, could be interesting.
Good luck to you guys this weekend.
I think the bigger problem is him hitting his receiver on the shoulder opposite of the direction he is running. That forces the receiver to adjust and the defense to catch up.
Austen throws a pretty good deep ball (and it will get better) and throws the short routes exceptionally well. He struggles on the intermediate 10-20 yard passes across the field. That definitely kept us from moving the ball early against Baylor and is my biggest concern for the remaining games.
He also locks on like radar and is not deceptive enough on who is his target. He can improve easily in this area.
