POLL - Score and Outcome Predictions: ISU vs Nebraska

With both teams coming out of games with very unexpected results, who do you think wins this weekend? By how much?

At this point, I honestly can't predict a score. Neither ISU or Nebraska is consistent enough to know which of their polar opposites will emerge on Saturday, especially after such emotional games this past weekend.

Nebraska has a lot of weaknesses, but has shown some flashes of being able to play at times. They played Texas Tech to an outcome that even the most ardent Husker fans wouldn't have predicted.

Similarly, Iowa State has shown to have some youthful talent and an ability to play a quarter or two of decent football any given game. After an incredibly embarrassing loss at Baylor, it's unknown if the team will come out looking lost like they have so many times this year, or if the fired up team that took a big lead against Kansas will emerge ready to finally play a full game.

I could see Nebraska winning by 21 or Iowa State winning by 21. I could also see either team winning by 3 or either team handing the other team an easy win. I just can't predict which of each team's "games" will show up - especially for Iowa State.

i think this is a game where we learn a lot about our team. i think the cyclones respond in the face of adversity. i predict that JT will see the field at some point and wow us.

cyclone win this one in a close one, offensive shootout. 38-34

then we roll in 3 or 4 really good commitments after the game. hopefully carpenter

I'm really hoping Nebraska has a let down after their inspired effort at Texas Tech last week. I can't get any handle on this game because both of these teams aren't stable to me. Which ISU team will show up? The one that looks halfway capable or the one that looks like it should be playing FCS football? Which Nebraska team shows up? The one who can't stay within 5 TDs at home to Missouri or the one who nearly picked off an overrated Texas Tech squad.

I have no idea what to expect so I will just sit back and watch. I can't see us winning this game but I'm probably just down in the dumps since it seems so long since we've won a game. I know damn well Nebraska isn't any good, though.

I'm going with the Cyclones, 31-24.

Pelini does not have to have a "Genius" compatible name to be a better Defensive specialist.

anyways, i have been picking NU by 14 and i could see it going up to 40+ if ISU plays like they did against baylor.

NU has not really been inconsistent, we do not have the Dline to exert pressure on chase daniel and that is how you beat MU. if you dont get that pressure on Daniel they will lay points on you all day.

in our other two losses we lost by less than a TD in each both team are ranked in the top 15, one in the top 5. on top of that we manhandled all of our other 3 out of conference opponents.

i have been to every ISU home game this season and i have not been impressed, not even with the KU game. ISU is very very slow, especially on defense. they have lived and died off of the turnover, many times blowing their coverages trying to go for the turnover. NU is not kent state and our offense will not let your Dbacks get away with that and we will likely break some long passes and have a lot of YAC. ISUs D is bad enough that NU will be able to exploit it as bad if not much better than we did against TTech. you can expect a lot of short passes, 4-7 yds, that will eventually start to open up the run and we will start to break some long runs in the second half. NU will also throw some long balls but likely only 4-5 throughout the game.

Baylor is certainly getting better but they are still a bottom level team that would only be average at best in the MAC. That game along with the other 3 games they have lost in a row make me think that this ISU team will not only be over matched they will be demoralized. Bo will not run up the score so we will not win by 50 or any number like that (probably not even the 40 i said above) but we will likely win by anywhere between 14 and 30.

For your sake i hope that i am wrong about winning by that much but that is just how i see it and that is coming from someone that has watched every ISU game and all home games at jack trice. I am a NU fan but i do follow ISU football very closely and this one will just be out ISUs league for now.
