Bates WOI Interview
Sounds like he has a talk with John Walters tonight on WOI on the 10 o'clock news.
I caught a clip or two on M&M, and it sounds pretty "interesting".
When asked why he went to Pollard instead of Chizik, he hems and haws and then basically says "I didn't want to waste his time". Seriously?

I would (of course) go to the CEO of my company to quit, rather than talk to the HR director. Why waste the HR director's time? -

Note that he started his answer by saying "to be honest..." and we all know what that means when someone starts an answer with that. -
Re: Bates WOI Interview
If PB Jr told Jamie Pollard, then why did his Daddy call Chizik and tell him ?
Or do I have the facts all messed up in this sad affair ?

Have shovel, will comment and dig and dig and dig. This is starting to seem like a media propaganda act to me. They must not realize how dumb this is starting to sound.

Not saying they would protect ISU, but remember John Walters is the Sports Director over there.
If it were WHO, I'd completely agree. They're the trash network of central Iowa and will do anything in an attempt to drive up ratings.
KCCI? Tweener.

Re: Bates WOI Interview
Hmm... I tend to agree with some of the above sentiment. If Bates would stop talking this issue would go away. The very fact that he keeps giving interviews makes me wonder what is going on.

Re: Bates WOI Interview
Maybe he will announce he will be joining his buddy Niles Paul in Lincoln.
I suspect he was a big part of recruiting the class members and that is where it may hurt the most for the future.
Obviously PB was thinking of quitting before that fateful day - sopmewhat like Wesley did.
He only wants to play qb, preferably as a starter. He will go anywhere to accomplish the mission, even Iowa.
Something must have been dropped on him for him not to play in the KU game.
He should be asked where he will be sitting on Saturday.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Bates WOI Interview
He should be asked "What should Gene Chizek call a player who leaves the team 2 days before a conference game?"
QUITTER

Re: Bates WOI Interview
If he was smart, he wouldn't go to the game on Saturday...

Re: Bates WOI Interview
I'm sure if PB would of called Chizik, Chizik would of talked him out of it. That's probably why he had his dad call Polord so it was different.

Re: Bates WOI Interview
Has anyone come up with a reasonable explanation why he quit in the middle of the season yet? We can all come up with tons of reasons why he would be better waiting until the end of the season, but there isn't a very strong argument for quitting in the middle. If he gets asked that question, someone please post the answer.
