Nobody is going to want this job. We lucked out that Pollard sweet talked Chizik (no matter how good a coach you think he is).
We're better off giving him AS MUCH time as possible (just like Mac) and hoping for the best. 2009 is a crucial year, obviously.
I'll repeat in simple terms...do you really think a quality coaching candidate is going to want to risk his ENTIRE career on coming to Ames? Good luck. Sadly, that is the truth. Which makes me wonder why I devote so much energy in following this team.

Keep it clean and on topic - no name calling or putting down others! A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. -

ISU is my team. I will be there cheering a last minute touchdown as we lose to KSU 45-7 at the end of a 2-10 season.

We did it 3 times today, not just once. And we also ran a 7 yd out on 3rd and 10. WHY? Because that is what the defense gave us. We took it and then punted. Our team cannot dictate what happens on the field because we are outmanned at virtually every position. I'm trying to stay positive for the future, but I see very few bright spots to build upon. The few we do have will have a hard time shining with all the weak spots I see. We've got somme huge holes to fill and I can't see them being filled in the near future.

But there were three times we ran plays short of a first down on 3rd down. And on those three plays AA had tons of time

I'm no Ferentz/Iowa fan, but those are facts, and they answer your question.
Give it time....
