The Toilet Bowl: ISU vs. A&M
I remember when we had the argument with Tech fans in '06 about who was worse heading into that game only to be bombed out of the 2nd half laying claim to worst. Now, sadly I am having the same light-hearted argument with an Aggie grad I know at work. "We suck worse than you!" "No way you can suck any worse than us!"
Shame on me. But hey, I gotta find something to brag about. In all seriousness, I will be there in JT losing my voice like I do every week. Go Cyclones!
Re: The Toilet Bowl: ISU vs. A&M
A part of me almost wishes this wasn't on TV but I can't resist a night game at JTS. A win would feel soooooo good but I don't see it happening.
Re: The Toilet Bowl: ISU vs. A&M
Still can't believe this one is on TV. Especially in prime time.
The only logic I can think of for this is that there will be a World Series game on at the same time, and maybe they're thinking ratings will suffer anyway and they're planning on putting the better games on earlier in the day.
Re: The Toilet Bowl: ISU vs. A&M
FCS is just happy to be able to broadcast college football games and they think the Aggie fanbase will tune in -- if they can figure out which channel on DirecTV the game will magically appear on at 6:00 PM CST.
Re: The Toilet Bowl: ISU vs. A&M
I can't believe a TV network is paying the Big 12 for the right to televise this game. It almost seems like we should pay them to not televise it. Maybe they could show a replay of the 2005 ISU @ A&M game instead.
Re: The Toilet Bowl: ISU vs. A&M
Never complain about ISU being on TV. Even thought the team isnt very good it is never a bad thing to be on TV, no matter how bad things are. There 2 games after this one that will find their way to TV, the other OSU and Missouri. We will be lucky if the other 2 get picked up.
Re: The Toilet Bowl: ISU vs. A&M
we will lose to a. and m.their running backs are better than ours.
mr lane,if healthy, will have a field day against our defense.plus goodsen is a better back than what we have for backs. the only way we can beat a. and m. is if their qb is injured and cannot play.
then we might have a fighting chance.

If we lose to A&M at home then we will probably end up 2-10 with a "signature" win over the Kent State Golden Flashes who are currently 1-6. Who would have ever predicted that in August???

Remember when all the Homies said it was crazy for the B12 publications predicting we'd be last in the B12 North.
Re: The Toilet Bowl: ISU vs. A&M
The good thing about the toilet bowl is that win or lose, when it is all over, we can flush.

No. I thought we all were agreeing with that?

Hay Denver, I can remember all of those predictions of 8 wins and a bowl game & at the time I was wondering what those people er cyfans were drinking!!
I am hoping (& of course praying) 4 a win over aTm...If we cant win that one its 10 straight losses to end the season and quite frankley I dont think this program can handle 10 straight in the loss column going into the off-season!!

As an Aggie, Lane will not touch the ball this week. He only has like 10 carries on the season. We have good running backs but are throwing the ball a lot more which I am happy about. We had only 30 yards rushing against tech. 2 weeks ago against K state we had 417 yards passing. Our best receivers are Jeff fuller (freshman) and Ryan Tannehill (freshman, 3rd string QB). We are starting 3 freshman on defense and have a total of 9 that are getting significant playing time on the 2 sides of the ball. We continue to get better each week but our defense is still awful. If Iowa state can run the ball, and connect on screen passes then it could be another long day for us.

Conversely, if we win at home, we have a shot at beating K-State and Colorado on the road, and who knows what could happen against Missouri--which would really be a "signature" win.
Isn't it wonderful how both sides of the "if" coin work, Monty? [/sarcasm]
Re: The Toilet Bowl: ISU vs. A&M
Hmmmmm... If we only drew 48,000+ for Nebraska, wonder how many we will get this week???
I do need tickets
