Weekly Depth Chart

A lot of changes along the O-line. This looks a little bit more of what I thought our line would look like at the beginning of the year, except I thought B. Johnson would start at center. With four returning starters from a line that improved a lot over last year, I didn't expect to see so many changes coming into this year and now we are going back to nearly the same o-line as we had last year.

One other thought I had while looking at the depth chart. Not sure who played in the Kansas game, but it seems like our o-line has played worse since Mike Knapp has been out at center.

Did I miss any injury updates on Chris Brown? Is he not healthy yet or just not good enough to start?

Could someone point out the changes? Other than Alvarez, it looks like the same names at the top to me.

Reggie Stephens moved to Right Guard to replace Ben Lamak
Ben Lamak Move to right Tackle to replace Haughton
KO know the starter at left guard in replace of Reggie Stephens

I like seeing LJ as 2nd now at the Punt Return position, I'm sick of muffing and fumbling punts.

Starting line last saturday was..

Tackles Dedrick, Lamack
Guards Stephens, KO
Center Alvarez

Did Knapp play at all the last 2 weeks?

Man, that punt return fumble by McDowell was a killer was'nt it!? Looked like we had some life and the ball at midfield. Although, fwiw he took a heck of a shot to the back. :eek:

That fumbled punt return ended the game. Not that we had a good chance but we still had life - that sucked it out.

I can't completely blame the guy, he was trying to make a play, knowing full well it needed to be defense or special teams scoring points for us. He tried to do too much, but on a pathetic offensive day, I can't fully blame the kid.

I agree, he got twisted and held up then took a HUGE hit directly on the back.

It was a big hit, but he should have had that ball wrapped up with 2 hands at that point, and he didn't.

Should he have wrapped up that ball? Yeah. But there's no guarantee that even if he does that he still holds onto the ball, not with the kind of hit he took in the back. Understand he was trying to make a play (as the rest of the team seemed incapable of doing so), but you just don't turn your back to the defense.

That was my first thought too. Spin move = cover ball.

Alas, like 22 said, you can't fault him all that much. Trying to make a play happen at a time we needed it.

Our offense is now 5 sophs and one freshman (first time) while defense has two freshmen cornerbacks. Four young'ns on special forces.

So our defense is not that young.

what ever happened to jason harris,rb???injured or in the doghouse???had a nice touchdown run against SDSU!!!!
